March 2 – Life in a Lockdown #48
So we are back, thank you to everyone who sent best wishes and support over the past few weeks. I have never got on well with this time of year. Normally we would take some time out, get away for a weekend, see something a bit different, to try and drag me out of whatever world I have disappeared into.
However, of course, we couldn’t this year. So my brain started overthinking everything (it still is really) to a point where I just couldn’t deal with anything else. I couldn’t think, move or function. So I just had to say look I can’t do this right now.
As even sitting in front of my computer set me off into a strange state.
I’m by no means feeling better, but I’ve got to a place where writing is hopefully going to help, rather than hinder again.
So I’m here to give it all a whirl again.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from as mall business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

So what did week 48 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
As I said at the start I’m up and down. I’ve spent a lot of time crying, crying over nothing, crying over Sal not being here, crying because I just don’t know what I feel and as much as I am trying to use my DBT skills to work it out I can’t. And crying as I type this because right now it is the only way I know how to let my emotions out in a “safe way”.
I’ve felt like a failure and burden to every one of late.
I want the world to go back to normal and I know we now have this “road map” but I’m in a place where it feels like it is never going to get better.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
Not much a lot of crying, a lot of just trying to get through one day at a time, even just the next 10 minutes at a time.
Somedays I counted down the hours till the time I could get to sleep again as then I Wasn’t thinking.
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
I mean the UK is doing amazingly with rolling out the vaccine, the amount of people who have had the jab is incredible. I just hope it keeps on going well.
That said I do worry about all these different variants popping up and the talk of them being more deadly, and the vaccines being less effective.
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
That we survived it, I think.
Right now existing is hard and I think that’s something that may help me in future.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
Nothing to share this week I’m afraid – did have a really cool item arrive from a small business sent for review though that I will share soon.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
My parents bought me a weighted blanket the other week, it had been something I had mulled over from time to time. However, I am extremely claustrophobic and with my left side not being much use I had put it off.
However, with how bad my mental health has been anything was worth a try.
I’ve found that as long as I don’t pull it up to far up my chest and I get over the initial oh I don’t like this stage, it actually goes calm me.
Ash says I seem on the hole to be sleeping better, so that has to be some sort of a win.
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
I am a big kid, I love plushies, I love Disney, I find at times it can be easy to just stick on a kids film when I’m really struggling.
However, on the flip side, I love horror films and rock.
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
Friends and family and their kind words. They have meant a lot when I’ve been really low.
