Nixplay Smart Photo Frame W10G: Review
These days we often take photos on our phones, quickly and often on the spur of the moment. As such more than ever, we are capturing those special moments.
However, without the need to have pictures printed, other than sharing them on social media, or using as a screen saver how can we view our favourite pictures?
Well, that’s where Nixplay steps in, as they are all about sharing your photos, simply.
Who Are Nixplay?
Nixplay offers a way for families to stay connected, privately. Which is perhaps more important than ever with the year we have going on.
They allow you to create a private family network where you can easily and simply share pictures. Which depending on your settings can be uploaded directly to your frame or need accepting. Uploading a new image is simple and can be done via the app, email or website and your photos will be distributed to your chosen frames within minutes. Yes, it really is that simple.
The Nixplay Range.
Nixplay offers a range of frames. For instance, their base frame starts at £69.99. This frame needs photos added via USB or memory card and offers no wifi capability. However, it still offers full HD images and motion activation.
The base wifi frame comes in at £169.99 and goes up to £319.99. All of the wifi range can be uploaded to via the app. However, Nixplay are always adding new features to their frames and upping the quality of the images, this alongside frame sizes means they are sold in a wide price range.
Nixplay Smart Photo Frame W10G.
Recently I was sent the Nixplay Smart Frame W10G. This frame comes in a range of sizes; 9.7″, 10.1″, 13.3″ and15.6″. While the finish is either in black or metal.
As with many of the frames, this one can be wall mounted or free standing and offers the Integrated Hu-Motion Sensor. This is a clever inbuilt feature which knows when you are around, switching your frame on and off as and when it detects motion in the room.
What’s more Nixplay frames support video and sound as well as photos. Meaning if you want to send a quick message to a loved one you can use their frame to do it.
This particular frame offers 2K Ultra picture quality and can have images uploaded via email, app, dropbox, Facebook, Instagram, Verzion Cloud and Google Pictures. What’s more it can easily intergrate with your alexa or google assistant. Offering you huge flexibility on how this frame is used.
For me I love the idea of the Nixplay frames creating a family connection. One where you can quickly and easily share special moments with loved ones around the world.
Nixplay Plus.
Once you have a Nixplay frame you have access to the Nixplay app which allows you to share photos and videos simply and easily.
However, they have recently launced Nixplay Plus. This service takes your Nixplay frame to the next level. Offering longer video clips, more connected frames, an extended warranty, more storage and the ability to set more group and private playlists.
As such Nixplay Plus is perfect for familys who Nixplay together. Offering more control over what is and isn’t shared and allowing you to share with more people.
My Thoughts on the W10G.
I was sent the W10G in Metal. It was a nightmare to photograph due to the reflective frame, however it does look really good in real life. Thankfully, it comes with it cleaning cloth, which allows you to keep it free of any finger prints. While it can easily be controlled via the app or using the remote included
Over the years I have reviewed a number of Nixplay frames including:
Nixplay W10E
Nixplay Iris
and
Nixplay Seed.
With each frame I recieved I am impressed with the differences, from the upgraded picture quality, to the motion activation and the intergrantion with alexa. Nixplay are always launching something new for their frames. Which keeps them ahead of the crowd.
I am sure for many this year, Nixplay has helped keep them upto date with family goings on and that in itself is a huge thing.
Personally I can’t wait to see what Nixplay do next and if you are after a digital photoframe, be it a simple no wifi one, or one to share with the family, they are worth checking out.

This device just doesn’t work Photos come into my phone (Poor place to watch them) but can’t display on Frame. Would rate a 2 out of 10. (2 because they show up on phone.)
It might be work getting in touch with Nixplay I’ve had a number of frames over the years now and all have shown fine, it sounds like you might have a faulty unit perhaps.
I think this is amazing, especially when you want to share moments with your kids with their grandparents. Plus it’s so much more eco friendly then printing photos out.

The quality of the photos shown is pretty spectacular, just like if they were real photos. I like that you can control the frame with a remote.

the is definitely a clever idea as it allows you to easily access your memories on the fly. I do think that I prefer the old album or doing some scrapbooking instead.
It’s more like the old photo frames than an album or scrapbook it just lets you change the photo being shown in or scroll through them, rather than always having the same picture on show.
My hubby loves to collect photos and he is the one design all the frames in our house..Maybe I should share this to him…
