Rug Doctor Review

Following on from last month’s post on Rug Doctor Spot and Stain today I bring you one of the main beast, the big one the one that is Rug Doctor. Most people are no more than a 10 minute drive from their local Rug Doctor Rental venue, from my home in just over a mile I have 3 locations, in a 10 mile radius there is 10 at least. You will find them in stores such as Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Homebase, B&Q, Johnsons, The Co-Operative and The Range, and with rental costing from just over £30 for 24 hours, which could save you up to £160 compared to hiring a professional carpet cleaner.

As I’m due to be moving soon I smiled nicely a my mother and asked to borrow her carpets to test on, as sadly mine will be ripped up and mostly likely thrown away unless by some miracle they fit the new place.

The worst part of the whole procedure has to be clearing the room /s you want to clean, the machine it’s self is simple and easy to use, it comes with easy to follow instructions. The white tank at the front is removable into that you pop around 9 litres of water and 150ml of cleaning solution then clip it back into place. We were sent 2 litres of cleaning fluid which is said to clean approximately 4 rooms; we managed to clean the dining room, hall, landing and 1 bedroom with liquid still to spare. You can have hose attachments as well which will help you with the stairs; we didn’t have any come with our cleaner so we sadly had to give the stair cleaning a miss.

The carpets were left beautifully clean with the pile restored, you had to get the nerve to walk on the carpet again and push down its lovely fluffed up pile.The cleaner really helped freshen the carpet, removing all of Sal’s fur simply easily, they say it should take around 2 hours for a carpet to dry, we found it took a little longer but that could be down to the fact we were using it on wool carpets rather than synthetic manmade fibres.

When empty the Rug Doctor is really light, obviously the water adds a bit of a weight to it, Ash say’s it weighs less than our new microwave which luckily I could find a weight for and it is 12kg.
