Heritage Dual-Side Pocket Watch from Personally Presented
I have spoken before about Ash’s love of timepieces, he has quite a collection of pocket watches going now and while he doesn’t actually use them, they are definitely well loved. When Personally Presented got in touch with me to see if I would like to review a watch from their website, I knew it had to be another pocket watch to add to Ash’s collection.
Heritage Dual-Side Pocket Watch from Personally Presented
After spending some time looking around the website, Ash decided to go for the Heritage Dual-Side Pocket Watch, which can be personalised to both the front and back, one side with a message and the other with the recipient’s initials.
For one side he went with: Time Tells No Lies – a quote from one of his favourite animes, Bleach. While the other side, of course, holds his initials.
How is the Pocket Watch Used?
This particular pocket watch is one which needs to be wound up by hand, this is done by turning the wheel to the top of the watch, just underneath the clasp. To set the time you pull up the same wheel and turn clockwise until you have the correct time set.
The numbers around the face of the watch are of course Roman Numerals, with a second, minute and hour hand present to help with telling the time.
What did Ash think of the Pocket Watch?
I am going, to be honest here as always, we expected the watch to come beautiful engraved as per the pictures on the website, meaning the engraving and watch itself matched in colour. However, as you can see from our pictures the wording has been done in a strange orange colour. Which has left us both scratching our heads a little and sadly for us both seems to detract from the look.
The watch itself can be opened from both the front and the back, with the face offering an open view into some of the innermost workings of the pocket watch. Which is a really interesting and unique feature I have to say. This also allows you to stand the watch upright if you fancied having it open display and open for everyone to see.
Final Thoughts
The pocket watch itself is absolutely beautiful, the fact you can see in the inner workings is great, it really is just a shame about the coloured lettering they decided to go for, though I am sure for some people this will really work.

This is such a beautiful pocket watch, but I have to agree: I don’t get the color of the engraving at all! Have you considered asking them if that’s a standard thing? Is it possible that someone just forgot to polish off the engraving fluid before it was sent out? In any case, I’d check with them, because it definitely doesn’t look like the engraving on the website, and it might have just been a simple manufacturing oversight that you could get remedied.
They have emailed me back saying they are looking into the colour of it. So I shall definitely update as and when I can with that, as it’s an odd thing. Though it does seem like some people like it.
Beautiful watch. I have my grandfather’s pocket watch as a family heirloom. I don’t actually mind the colour of the engraving – blue might have been better but at least it stands out.
