Organised and Efficient: Easy Ways to Simplify Your Life
Life can be hectic, there’s no doubt about it. When you have a job, are running a house, raising children, looking after pets and trying to maintain a social life, it can feel like there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. For this reason, it makes sense to adopt practices that simplify your day to day tasks, and free up much needed time to use elsewhere. These things can also keep you organised and generally help you to feel like you’re on top of things in life. Here are a few ideas!
Plan Your Meals
Planning meals can save you money, help you to maintain your healthy eating and save you stress and hassle. Get yourself a large chalkboard and hang it in your kitchen, then every Sunday write down the evening meals you will be having that week. Be sure to take into account any late evenings or stressful days you might have and plan for an easy to prepare meal on these days. That way you can shop to your list without buying things you don’t need, and it doesn’t get to 6pm on a Wednesday and you’re considering ordering a takeaway because you don’t know what’s good to eat in the house. Meal prepping and batch cooking are great ways to get organised when it comes to food too. Things like chilli, lasagne, curry and bolognese are all examples of things you can make in a large pot and then freeze the leftovers. Split them up into Tupperware boxes and you can microwave them when you’ve had a busy day and don’t feel like cooking. Meal prepping lunches is useful too, salad jars are one example and can be customised in lots of different ways. They will last in the fridge for a good few days and means you don’t have to mess around every morning or evening putting together a good lunch for yourself.
Manage Your Health Online
Sometimes, a visit to the doctor is needed- but the ongoing management of a condition or medication doesn’t always need a trip to your GP. There are lots of types of medications you can buy safely online from legitimate sources like Simple Online Pharmacy. From period delay tablets to types of contraceptive pill, malaria tablets, sexual health medication and repeat prescriptions- these things can be sorted online and delivered to your door. If you don’t have time to schedule a doctor’s visit, and finding a pharmacy that’s open once you’ve finished work is a hassle then something like this can make life much easier. You will answer a few simple health questions on the site and that’s that. If you need to get advice and speak to a doctor, there are lots of apps you can use these days which allow you to do this. That way you can speak to a GP from the comfort of your home, no waiting around necessary. Lots of doctors surgeries are overrun and it can take weeks to get an appointment, then you have to take time off work. Whereas with something like this you could see a doctor in minutes and have everything sorted and out of the way.
Simplify Your Finances
Money is a tricky thing, most of us never feel like we have enough and in order to make ends meet we must manage it correctly. But there’s no need to get bogged down with it, there are a couple of ways you can simplify things and make it much easier. First of all, if you’re currently using a number of debit cards, store cards, loans and other lines of credit, consider consolidating. Here you take out a loan or credit card that’s large enough to pay off everything else. Close all of the other accounts, and you only have one line of credit to pay back each month instead of many. This can save you tons of money on interest too, especially if you take out a consolidation loan or card which offers an interest-free period, to begin with. That way you can pay down as much as possible without any getting sucked up by interest. Use a budgeting app to automatically work out your money each month, this makes everything much quicker and easier than manual methods. And set your bills to come out by direct debit, from a separate bills account. That way you can work out how much you need to transfer into the account each month from your wages, and everything is taken automatically. As it’s separate from your main account, you never have to worry about spending back onto it.
Go Minimalist at Home
Keeping on top of the housework is a never-ending task, however there are practices you can put in place to make things quicker and easier. Go through and have a proper declutter, get rid of anything that isn’t useful. Put in effective storage systems for the things you do use- shelves, drawer dividers, pots, baskets and more can all categorise things. Generally, aim to keep everywhere minimal. Instead of having lots of items out on display, go for a couple of key pieces instead. It’s easier to dust and clean around them and your house still stays looking homely. As things will be coming into the home all the time, decluttering is an ongoing process, but one that’s well worth doing. That way every time you clean and tidy you’re not rummaging with or messing around with old items that are never even used. A quick once-over with the vacuum and a wipe down of surfaces is much easier when your home isn’t brimming with clutter.
A few simple changes might be all you need to simplify different areas of your life, saving you time and hassle. We’re already busy enough, the last thing we need is to be messing around with outdated systems which are time consuming and annoying.

I enjoyed reading this and I think that they are all great. The hardest one for me to do is planning meals. This is something that I really need to work on, because it makes life so much more easier.
I simplified my finances a few years ago AND started meal planning. It definitely has helped a ton as far as time goes.
I always plan my meals because my grocery budget is pretty tight . . . can’t afford to throw tons of food away! I should do better about decluttering, though. I have a bit of a love for books and knickknacks that get in the way.
I completely agree that meal planning can make such a difference in your life!! It makes my weekly life so easy
