FlavrBox Review

Back in April I wrote about the delicious looking FlavrBox, a brand launched in November 2011 and bringing a new kind of box to our doorsteps one filled with delectable food products starting at just £16 per month (for a year’s subscription) you will receive 5 or 6 products every month to tickle those taste buds. So when I noticed they were advertising for bloggers to try their box I of course jumped at the chance as did my fellow taste testers in the house.

Walnut and Rustic Salami by Forest Pig CharcuterieThere was a small mishap with the Pesto and it had leaked in transit but this is not something that was FlavrBox’s fault (it made the box smell edible on opening through), it was parcelled well with great protection around all items, no breakages, or crushed parts to be seen.

My Mum quickly jumped on the ‘Meet the Makers’ booklet that is included with the products, it makes a lovely way to know all about where and who your newly found favourite items have come from.

I love the fact they have given you a wide range of meals within this box, a pesto with pasta one night, followed by the Speltotto (just add water and butter for a quick meal in minutes) another two. The Salami was delicious in sandwiches so perhaps a quick lunch with that, plus the gorgeous raspberry truffles made for a gorgeous dessert or even afternoon snack.

FlavrBox do two different boxes one being for the above and the other for vegetarians so if you don’t eat meat don’t worry there is still a box for you, all you need to do is let them know :).Ash has already asked if he can get one of these each month as his ‘monthly box’ and I’m pretty sure it’s something once we are settled we will be doing, as it’s a fantastic way to try small business out, and find new tasty products to fill your belly. If you don’t fancy signing up for a year, you can buy them on a monthly subscription for £20 which when you think that includes all the products, plus postage and packing that really is a fantastic price, I couldn’t find a price for all the above but what I did find alone came to over £20.
