Pen Heaven Photo Album: Review
Recently Pen Heaven got in touch about their brand new range of photo albums, which is what go me thinking about the difference in how photos are stored and shared. Once upon a time taking photos would mean snapping photos and hoping for a good outcome once you had, had them developed and as such, photo albums were something that was common place in every home. However, as the digital age has progressed most us use either our smart phones or digital cameras to take out photos, sharing them instantly via social media or email, rather than printing them out.
Now I’m not saying that social media and instantly sharing precious moments is a bad thing, in fact it is really a wonderful thing, especially when friends and family can be so far away. However, I do think it is a shame that we don’t also print things out anymore to display in the home or showing them off to friends.
Pen Heaven sent me the Amalfi extra-large leather photo album in black, which can be personalised with up to two lines of embossed text. As you can see I had this embossed with Sally Tails as I have so many pictures of her and I thought it would be nice to have them all printed off and stored in one place safely, as the truth is you never know when technology may let you down and you end up losing your precious photos.
The album itself is made from a soft supple leather cover which features a front flap that is teamed with a double leather strap tie. The inside of the album contains 50 cream coloured pages, each of which is paired with a protective cover to help your photos stay in perfect condition for as long as possible.
I was utterly amazed by the detail and look of this album, it has been so beautifully made and it is something that I would be so proud to hand to people to look through.
To me this is the perfect album to use for extra special time, perhaps you buy it for your wedding photos, or a special family get together. Or you could gift it for a birthday or anniversary, perhaps pop in all your own special memories with the recipient, as a starting point.
Personally I am wondering about getting another for parents, as a gift, as I know they have some photos of aunts and I think it would be a lovely way for them to be able to store them in the long term.
Everyone who has looked over this album agrees it really is something very special and is something that will allow you to cherish your photos for many years to come.

I think it is a nice looking album. For me personally, I would not use it. I do not print pictures like i used to and finding the time to do it would be difficult. I could imagine me sitting down later and making some albums based on our family adventures.

I love this album – esp. the soft cover! All of mine with hard covers have fallen apart over the years. This one looks like it is very well made, and will last a lifetime!

I do miss storing photos in albums. It’s just a different feel once you see them in print and you get to load up on memories.

It has been a really long time since I have physically printed photos. Definitely something I need to think about doing, especially since we just got two kittens.

I’m a sucker for personalized things, they do good work. I’m guilty of not printing out my pictures often.
Although this album looks great, I’m all about technology and store every picture on my computer. I do like having the actual pics, but electronic storage is much easier and less messy for me.
That Pen Heaven Photo Album would make an awesome gift. I’m all about keeping and making memories and with everything being digital these days, it’s good to have actual psychical photos.

I love photo albums. I am getting better about printing out my pictures but still not great at remembering to get an album!

Hmmm, last check I have over 1000 photos just on my phone.
That’s not including the ones that are stored on our hard drive. What a shame! I love flipping through photo albums too. Great reminder to get our photos printed!

I think photo albums are great! Even though we can instantly share our photos online and social media I still think there is nothing like having a photo album house your memories. x
