Tregothnan – Cornish Tea

My mouth may have slightly hung open as an email popped up for Tregothnan, to anyone who knows me they know I have a slight addiction to tea and I can say hand on heart I had no idea England had a tea farm let alone that is was in one of my favourite places – the beautiful Cornwall.

Tregothnan owns and runs the UKs only tea plantation which has grown in size since its birth in 1999 to now producing four black teas and eight herbal infusions, but tea isn’t the only ‘special’ product they produce with it being sold alongside Tregothnan’s very special Kea plum jam; and the recently launched Kea plum liqueur, this plum is found in just 20 acres of Cornwall

In fact special is probably the wrong word to use to describe those unique products as in fact everything Tregothnan sells is special in its own right and I was lucky enough to be sent three of their products to try myself.

Classic Tea
If like me when it comes to tea you are a lover of a good English Breakfast then you really cannot get any more authentic than this, with it of course being grown and prepared right here in the UK. I received the 10 tea bag box, which includes each bag individually foil wrapped and comes in at £4 – which while it may sound expensive at first thought as soon as you taste its rich and full bodied flavour you will soon, as I did, fall in love.

Field of Dreams  – £29.95
This beautiful bouquet is made using fresh seasonal flowers, put together to recreate the feeling of walking through a Cornish field on a warm summer day. Each flower is carefully chosen to add to the colour, feel or fragrance of the bouquet and then hand-tied by Tregothnan’s floral designers, the price includes next day delivery across the UK to make sure the flowers reach their destination in perfect condition. The bouquet we were sent still looks as fresh as they day it was sent – weeks later and all who have seen it agree it would make just the perfect floral gift.

Cornish Clear Honey – £4.90
Collected from hives situated at Lizard Point in Cornwall this beautiful clear, smooth honey offers a really sweet, melt in your experience which goes just perfectly on a piece of toast, just be ready to lick your fingers after as it as a tendency to run about if you like to spread it on quite as a much as I do.

There is so much to be found in the Tregothnan shop that I can only suggest taking some time out and looking around it epically if you are after a last minute home grown present.
