7 Little Easter Treats That Feel More Special Than a Chocolate Egg
AD – I was sent some Playin CHOC to give away in this post!
Easter and chocolate eggs tend to go hand in hand, and while I’ll never say no to a classic egg, sometimes it’s nice to switch things up and find something a little different.
No matter if you’re putting together a small Easter surprise, planning a cosy spring treat for yourself, or just want something that feels a bit more thoughtful than the usual supermarket aisle options, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the season.
If you’re stuck for ideas, I’ve pulled together 7 little Easter treats that feel just a little bit different.
1. Chocolate With a Surprise Inside

One of the easiest ways to make Easter treats feel more memorable is by choosing chocolate that offers something beyond just the sweet treat itself.
The Rabbit Gift Set from Playin CHOC is a lovely example of this: each box contains 2 x organic chocolates, a 3D puzzle toy of a rabbit, and a fun fact toy! This gift set includes all 5 rabbit boxes (although you can also buy them individually), what’s more, all their chocolates are organic, vegan, and allergy-free!
As such, it turns a simple chocolate treat into something a little more interactive! The Gift Set comes in at £15.
2. Homemade Easter Bakes
Baking can be one of those little rituals that instantly makes a season feel special. It also used to be a great stress reliever for me when I could do it.
Easter is the perfect excuse to make things like:
- Classic hot cross buns
- Mini egg corn flake cakes
- Easter biscuits decorated with icing
- A simple chocolate loaf cake to share
Even a quick bake can make an afternoon feel cosy and celebratory (and you get a delicious treat to enjoy too).
3. A Spring Afternoon Tea
Another lovely way to mark Easter is to put together a simple afternoon tea; it doesn’t have to be anything fancy and just a few small touches can make it feel seasonal:
- Scones with jam and clotted cream
- Mini cupcakes or biscuits
- A good pot of tea
- Fresh flowers on the table
This offers a small way to slow down and just enjoy some time with loved ones over the long weekend.
4. A Seasonal Treat Hamper
If you enjoy putting together little gifts, an Easter hamper can be a really thoughtful idea. I have to admit I still remember an Easter basket my family made me as a child, filled to the brim with eggs.
However, if you want non egg ideas you could include things like:
- Good chocolate
- Tea or coffee
- Biscuits
- A small candle
- A cute mug
A small hamper of treats can feel much more personal than a single boxed gift.
5. Thoughtful Chocolate You Can Pick Up While Shopping

Sometimes the nicest treats are the ones you can simply add to your basket while doing the weekly shop.
The Endangered range of cubes from Playin CHOC is now available in Tesco and comes in at £1.50 per box, making a really sweet little seasonal treat. Each cube contains an organic chocolate, a collectable puzzle toy, and a fun facts card with 18 facts to collect, all inspired by endangered animals.
They’re perfect as a small surprise or as an extra addition to an Easter gift bag.
6. Cosy Easter Morning Rituals
Easter doesn’t have to revolve around gifts at all; sometimes it’s about creating small seasonal moments, which are more about taking care of you and less about spending.
That might look like:
- A slow morning with coffee and hot cross buns
- Opening the windows and letting in some spring air
- Enjoying a favourite book with a cup of tea
- A relaxed breakfast with family or friends
Sometimes simple rituals can become the moments we remember most.
7. Tiny Spring Treats

Finally, sometimes the best Easter surprises are the smallest ones.
A few simple ideas include:
- A pastel mug for spring drinks
- A small bunch of fresh flowers
- A new notebook or journal
- A cute seasonal decoration
These tiny touches can brighten the whole weekend.
What’s your favourite way to make Easter feel more special?
