Head to the Beach
There are many beaches around Ibiza, which help offer a more sedate and relaxing time, such as Playa de Santa Eulalia.
This small beach is said to feel calm even on the busiest of days. With it offering a long stretch of fine white sand alongside turquoise waters it makes for the perfect day out at the seaside.
If you look around, you might even spot the odd beach location which offers early morning yoga classes for those who want to start off the day in such a way.
Fancy being just a walk away from the beach? Then, check out the local Santa Eulalia Hotels, which are located around 13 miles from the airport.
Flower Festival
Sticking with the Santa Eularia area if you love flowers, then visiting the area during the first Sunday of May might be right up your street.
A parade of flowers takes place on horse-drawn carts through the streets, with locals often taking to the streets in beautiful costumes.
The day is often also host to a town band, car show and all rounded off with fireworks.
A day to remember.
Puig de Missa
Above the town of Santa Eularia, on top of Puig de Missa sits a church. This unique building was originally built in the 16th century as a fortified religious building. It was then consecrated in 1568.
Unsurprisingly it has, since its origin, been added to and now offers a labyrinthine type layout, inside its whitewashed walls.
As well as this unique building, the top of Puig de Missa, which is 52 meters above sea level, offers an extraordinary view of the local sea and surrounding area.
Hippy Markets
If you love shopping and exploring markets, then the Ibiza Hippy Markets are a must-visit. With several different markets on offer, it is worth doing some research into which one is best to visit for you depending on what you would like to buy, try and see.
Some of the larger hippy markets run just through the summer season. However, there are a few who run all year around. So be careful and double-check opening seasons and times. After all, you don’t want to arrive at the wrong time.
As well as shopping for souvenirs the markets hold crafts from local artisans, live music, and street food.
Visit The Old Town – Dalt Vila
If you are a history lover then visiting Dalt Vila or Ibiza Old Town is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an incredible glimpse into the Ibiza of old.
Offering narrow cobbled streets, filled with interesting alcoves and captivating buildings, it is a sight not to be missed.
The Museum of Archaeology is perfect for anyone who wishes to find out more about the local area. While several vantage points are found across the town; such as the Church of Santo Domingo, which is found neighbouring a cloistered convent. Where inside the island’s oldest convert the nuns make traditional sweets and red pepper coca.
The town is also home to a range of restaurants and a host of artisan shops.
So, no matter if you are after a day relaxing finding out about the history, taking in the views, or eating and shopping The Old Town has something for everyone.

I have this destination on my “to go list” for a while now. After reading this article I will ensure the place with my wife and collect as many memories as we could to cherish for years to come.

It does look lovely, that sea looks so inviting, beautiful A few years ago, we took 12 weeks out,and went to Spain, and lived in a house, we did all the shopping, We went in November and come back 3 months back later, and we really enjoyed it, the Tv was very rarely used, we read a lot we got books and then took them back and got some more. I do read but up until then I had never seen the O/H with a book, never mind read one, It was really good I would recomend it, I found the place, just by an advert in a shop window. We rented a house,paid the bills like you do far cheaper than a hotel.
That sounds absolutely incredible – I have to admit I love renting a place to stay these days over hotels, I just find it more comfortable if it’s anything more than a night or two.
Ha ha! I’m with all those who didn’t thinki t possible to relax or unwind in Ibiza! Isn’t it all deafening music and non-stop dancing?! I’d probably prefer to travel due East and settle on on of the many, many Greek islands. I particularly liked Mykonos – so clean, vivid blue and whitecolours everywhere.
No there are some absolutely stunning places to visit and relax on Ibiza! The history there is incredible.
Stunning, I have to say that the party lifestyle reputation has put me off Ibiza. I will have to reconsider as we start travelling again

I think most people associate Ibiza with clubbing, drinking etc – but there is of course a much more quieter and beautiful side to it as well.
They do, I have to admit I only knew about the other side as my Mum told me about it as she had been.

It is amazing the sights that are hidden in other areas of the beautiful country.
I always associate Ibiza with nightclubs but there is more to it than that.
It really is so much more, well worth being a place to go and explore away from the partying.

It looks like Ibiza is well worth looking at for a quiet holiday so long as we can have a quiet flight there it will be ideal for us.

I have clearly been hoodwinked by ‘false news’; I didn’t realise there were are quiet, relaxing parts to Ibiza. I thought it was party central 24/7 and strictly for those in their twenties or younger!
I only know as my Mum has spoken about it as went to the quieter side and said it was absolutely stunning. I really want to see The Old Town myself.
I last went there in 1986 on my honeymoon . It’s changed a lot but still seems to have so much to offer.
Definitely – I think it has a bit of a reputation these days, but you can definitely look beyond that, it has a lot to offer which isn’t just partying.

I have had some great holidays in Ibiza and miss going abroad on a whim. Not sure I could cope with international travel anymore and it is such a phaff in a wheelchair
I have to admit I’ve sat and thought I would love to be by a beach but taking a wheelchair with me sounds a real hassle. Perhaps I’ll stick to England.
