4 Tips for Stress-Free Air Travel
Let’s face it, nobody likes airports. The whole hassle that comes with air travel adds an element of stress that many of us would rather do without. However, when you know how to travel like a pro, you can relieve some of the stress that comes with the whole ordeal. In this article, we’re going to give you a few simple tips that will allow you to enjoy a stress-free flight.
Never take Middle Seats
Even if you’re travelling with a partner, not booking a middle seat is one of the best secrets you can use when travelling. Why? Well, since most middle seats are booked at the last minute, many end up being vacant, and that means more space for you and your partner. And if the middle seat does end up being booked, the passenger will most likely be more than happy to switch places with you, so you can sit with your companion.
Think about Parking
If you own a car, it’s always better to use it to go to and from the airport. Before you go, look for a park and fly arrangement well in advance. If you’re in Stansted, for instance, a good meet and greet Stansted parking service will allow you to leave your car to the parking attendant once you get to the airport so you can reach your terminal faster without the hassle. You’ll also have your car waiting for you once you get back, so you won’t have to worry about someone picking you up or paying for a taxi.
Forget the Customer Service Line if your Flight is Cancelled
The first reflex for many people is to go to the customer service counter once a flight gets cancelled, but that’s a bad idea. Why? Because everyone from your flight will most likely have the same reflex, meaning that you’ll have to wait in line and probably be the 100th person they serve once you get there, which will reduce your chances of getting a seat on the next best flight.
The best thing to do is to call the airline as soon as possible so they can re-book you. Airline phone agents will be more than happy to accommodate you with seats on the next flight.
Score the Best Seat
There are plenty of tricks you can use to get a better seat on a plane. One of my favourites is checking with the gate agent right before the flight to see if seats have been released. Most of the time, seats end up being released about 20 minutes from flight time from passengers who either missed their flight or cancelled. This is the perfect time to check in with flight agents to see if you can switch to a more favourable location.
Conclusion
As you can see, travelling stress-free is not only feasible but pretty easy. If you follow the few tips in this article, you should be able to make your whole travelling experience much more enjoyable.

That’s a great idea not waiting in the customer service line, but rather calling the airline directly. I usually try to get the aisle seat so I don’t have to ask anyone to move if I have to get up and use the bathroom.

I don’t think many people know these tips. I am aware of the middle seat rule, and avoid booking if I can. I’ll have to add the airline number in my phone for my future trips, just in case.
I never book the middle seat! I always try for an aisle seat, because of bathroom accessibility. I was not aware of the customer service tip. I’ll keep that in mind, should that ever happen!
