Madam Glam: Review
One of the things I loved blogging when I first started was nail varnishes but I had to sadly stop it as my nails took a turn for the worst and weren’t a pretty sight, thankfully they have started to get better, thanks to a lot of hand and nail cream and a good few years work, but they do still break at the most inconvenient of times.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t like wearing and trying new polishes, so when Madam Glam got in touch to see if I would like to try some of their nail varnishes straight from the US, I of course said yes. All of their varnishes are free from formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde resin and camphor – which means a more healthy formula to be putting on your nails. As well as them all being cruelty free and vegan friendly.
Madam Glam sent me the following four colours:
All redy – $10.95
This is really build-able colour, the picture above shows three coats on a clear nail stick, though on the nail it does translate a slightly deeper red, I feel you would need more coats to really get a rich red colour. This particular nail varnish is a jelly a type of polish, something I haven’t worked with much as I always assumed for someone who shakes, it wouldn’t be that forgiving, however I was wrong and I actually am now looking forward to trying more of this kind.
Disco Ball – $10.95
When is a set of varnishes complete without a glitter? In my mind never and as a lover of blue this is just the perfect addition to my collection, the website suggests you need just one coat for an even coverage but I found personally that a couple worked better (after all the more sparkles the better right)!
Black Hole – $10.95
I remember going through a lot of black varnishes in my teens, I used to hate the fact they didn’t apply well and would look streaky and odd, oh to have had access to this varnish back then. With its creamy formula it glides onto the nail leaving a glossy finish, that teen me would have been proud of.
Precious Mate – $10.95
This shimmery, metallic number is the perfect way to finish the colours, perfect for use on its own or as an accent colour this beauty needs three coats to achieve the amount of colour you can see above and if you wanted I am sure you could easily build on it to make it more intense.
When it comes to staying power – I am not a person who nail varnish stays on well (unless its on my toes) so I have to admit I’m probably not the best person to review this aspect, however I did get a couple of days of wear until it needed to be removed.
I would definitely look to try more Madam Glam varnishes in the future and one of the best things is, if you spend over $40 they offer free shipping worldwide and if you use the code: lifeinabreakdown30 at checkout you can also get yourself 30% off so what are you waiting for head over and check out Madam Glam now.
What do you think of these colours, are any of them one you would wear?

I like the coppery one. I always forget to paint my nails but then feel so much more ‘put together’ when I do x
These look great – I have to go for the quick drying type, as I am always rushing about!! Kaz x
I really like the Precious Mate! I don’t think I would get more of two days’ wear with any nail polish so don’t worry, you are not the only one :-)!xx
Stunning shades! I’m always up to trying out new nail polish brands and colours, these are definitely some I would wear.
Oooh I like the disco ball one, I am currently growing my nails, it’s taken me 26 years to make the decision not to bite them but I love seeing nail varnish posts so I can fantasise about what pretty colours I will be able to do my nails in a few months.

These look really nice, she sent you a good variety of colours. I think the black with the blue glitter over the top would look amazing x
I do love a bit of sparkle on my nails
I’m loving the look of the black nail varnish! Like you said, a good non-streaky black varnish is hard to come by.
And that gold is lush too….it would be perfect for a NYE celebration!

Cool colors and cool post Sarah . Thanks for sharing
It’s really nice to see those nasties aren’t in their formula. Cool colours too.
Ooh the glittery blue would look lovely over a rich cream or pale blue. So pretty 🙂
The glitter one is interesting and looks great as opposed to a regular solid colour.
I love the Disco Ball glitter, this would look great over the black 🙂 xx
I wouldnt wear it personally, but I do love the looks of the gold x
I used to live msil vanish bit since having the girls I rarely get to use my own!
Always love a bit of glitter 🙂 I’m like you, nothing stays on very long though!
They look like great colours. I am not great with nail varnish, it always chips
Oh these are so pretty. Love disco ball x
I love nail varnish, but only on my toes! These look fun
These are all great colours but I like the gold one best. It sounds like a good quality product.
Got to love a nail varnish… or 10!! I completely agree about the black nail varnishes, it use to drive me mad when I was a teenager!
I really like the disco ball one, love a bit of glitter ball!
I’m a bit of a nail varnish addict myself, but I hate removing it! I like the gold one best, but three coats is bit much, no good for the morning rush then!
Beautiful shades. My nails are horrible so I don’t wear nail varnishes.
Interesting varnishes, thanks for this xx
