Have you heard of Buddy Box?
I don’t remember a life before having mental health problems, the sporadic bits of my childhood I haven’t forgotten are often marred by the fact my thinking was way off base even back then. I don’t know when it started, perhaps it was a compound of different things which caused a larger issue from a teacher who bullied me, to moving any from an environment I felt secure in and was surrounded by friends, to one where I was an outsider, and didn’t dress or speak “right”.
These days, I find life hard I’ll admit, I don’t cope with it at all and can often feel that dark cloud looming, however blogging and being around those I love helps and not long ago I was contacted by the people over at Blurt, about their new monthly subscription Buddy Box.
This box is actually June’s and I was sent it around mid to late July, just in time for everything to go wrong from my health to the blog being hacked, so I’m late blogging this and for that I am very sorry – please forgive.
The box arrived on a day I felt awful, honestly I wanted to curl up and just give up and well Blurt describe it as a Hug in a box and I admit I did cry when I opened it but it was happy tears, I honestly felt like someone had reached out and said – we know times get rubbish but we’re in this together, to me, which was just what I needed at that moment.
So what was in Buddy Box?

I am going to completely admit now that more often than not when it comes to how I personally look at a box, a lot has to do with value and a one off subscription costs £21.50 including postage, (if you buy a longer subscription you pay less) and the RRP of the items in this box come to £20.01 so including postage and packaging you are getting just over your moneys worth. BUT for this box, to me at least, isn’t about that, it is more about what it symbolises than the actual value, to me this box has been carefully curated to include things that can help when you are feeling low and to me that is worth more than anything.
Personally I will definitely be signing up to this in the foreseeable future and if you fancy joining me with a subscription all you need to do is pop over to the website and sign on up you can even open a subscription for a friend (or choose to send them a one off box) if you do this you can enter a message for them so they know who it’s from or leave that area blank if you want to be anonymous.
However if the £21.50 price tag is a bit much for you – then check out the newly launched Buddy Box Light which can be brought as a one off or as a monthly subscription and costs just £12.

There is so many colouring books for adults these days. I think I might have to buy myself one too as it seems like everyone has one but me.
I’ve never heard of buddy box but it’s such a great idea and I love the concept of it. I wouldn’t pay the price but the one off box seems more up my street.

I have a friend who is in college and she loves sending Bella gifts I would love to sign up for her too but that 21 dollars is just a bit too high for me and the light I’m not so sure about but I’m glad you showed me this because it might just be a Christmas gift I get for my friend.
The idea of this box is lovely. The items included in the box are really nice and thing’s that I would use. This would make a really nice gift.

It is a great idea. The total RRP price and what it actually cost surprised me as most of the boxes these days you usually get a great deal. At least you do on the mood front though! 🙂
Prepaid cards are a great idea. It would help if you need to stick to a budget. These would be great for kids.
This sounds like the perfect box for me. I suffer from Anxiety and coloring would help when i need to focus on something else. I will be checking out their website now.
This is such a great subscription box. I have been wanting to get a coloring book. It would be a fun distraction.
I am not a fan of subscription boxes really. I think this one is really expensive for what you get, but I love the idea of giving a hug in a box, which is my I use pamper parcels.

This sounds like a wonderful box, perfect for picking up the spirits after a low day. In particular I like the colouring book. I have recently become addicted to colouring books for adults and find them a great way to block out stress
