Easybox 400 Contemporary Wall Mounted Letter Box: Review
If you had asked me just over a month ago what I thought about the idea of a contemporary wall-mounted letter box, I probably would have shrugged.
I mean, in principle, a wall-mounted post box seems like a good idea, but practically? How does it lock? Who’s going to use it? Will it really be useful?
Well, less than a month on, I have the answer to those questions, both from myself and parcel delivery people.
You see, I was contacted by LetterBox4You, who, knowing of my health issues, suggested such a box would be useful. After all, it would mean no more rushing to the door. I could wait for Ash to collect and bring in any parcels.
After checking with my Dad, who would be the one to put it up, and my landlord, it was a resounding yes to trying out the Easybox 400 Wall Mounted Letter and Parcel Box.

Letterbox4you.
Letterbox4you was launched in 2012, when they sold their first letterbox on eBay.
Since then, Letterbox4you has grown and become a supplier of letterboxes across the UK, Ireland, Germany and even Australia, while also being the letterbox supplier for some big names.
They pride themselves on only offering quality wall-mounted letterboxes with contemporary designs and are they are fully focused on customer support.

Easybox 400 Wall Mounted Letter and Parcel Box.
The Easybox 400 Wall Mounted Letter and Parcel Box is such a simple solution to have around the home.
Honestly, I was so surprised at how simple to use it was. For some reason, I thought having a parcel box would mean anyone who used it would need a key. However, that is definitely not true.
While the top compartment of the box is kept locked and used as a normal letterbox, the bottom parcel box is then accessed separately, with the door left unlocked. All your parcel delivery people need to do is turn the lock, which cannot be reopened without a key.
You are helpfully supplied with 4 keys which open both of the box sections.
If you are wondering about size, the box has the following measurements: height: 300mm, width: 400mm and depth: 270mm. The top letterbox has a capacity of 11 litres and a letter slot size of 44mm x 355mm, which is fine for A4-sized letters. The size of the parcel box is: 360mm x 170mm x 240mm.
This contemporary wall-mounted mail box is made from thermal powder-coated steel with the letter flap in brushed effect anodised aluminium. It’s a really modern design which doesn’t look out of place at our house.
We have set up our parcel box on the porch wall, and it was easy to install. However, it can be put up either inside or out, due to its weatherproof coating.
The faceplate can be taken out and engraved with a number or name, which might be useful, for example, at a block of flats, or if your front door is close to someone else’s.

What Our Parcel People Have Said.
As a blogger, we have a lot of parcels coming in. However, my health often means I’m in bed when the delivery people come knocking.
Which both makes it hard on them, waiting for me to get up, and hard on me.
That said, a number of delivery people have spoken to me about the parcel box, due to either needing a signature or having parcels too large.
All of those I have spoken to have been impressed with it. Commenting on how it will make life easier for them and how well-constructed and placed it seems to be.

Overall Thoughts.
If you had asked me a month ago what I thought of the idea of a wall-mounted letter and parcel box, I would have been confused.
Surely no one could put anything in it without a key?
Would people even bother to use it?
What’s the point when I’m in?
However, now I know it is useful, not only for people like me who have difficulty at times getting to the door, but also in the run-up to Christmas when people are working and waiting for parcels to arrive.
Having this contemporary wall-mounted letterbox means I know our parcels are going to be left safely.
It means I know if I am fatigued, I don’t have to worry about getting out of bed when the postman knocks.
It leaves me feeling in control of when I go and check for letters and parcels.

Inside the door, it has a notice to explain how anyone dropping a parcel off can lock it, but we are probably going to print something to go on the outside to make it clearer. However, most people seem to have had no issue working it out for themselves.
If you are thinking of getting something like the Easybox 400 Wall Mounted Letter and Parcel Box, I definitely say think about it no more! You will be surprised at just how much easier it makes life. Especially if you’re in a position like mine (or out at work when parcels arrive).
If you are after such a box, but this one doesn’t quite sound right, do check out all the external post boxes that Letterbox4you has.
What do you think of the sound of this postbox? Do you think it would be helpful for you?
This post contains a gifted item, this, however, doesn’t change my views, which are as always, honest.

I got something very similar as a Xmas present – what a god send it has been! I would recommend one of these wall-mountable post boxes to everyone. No more leaflets being shoved through your letter box in the evening as you’re sat quietly watching television. The noise that made used to make my poor old cat leap a mile into the air – and often gave me a bit of a shock too. I promise – it’s all positive, no negatives!
Oh bless your poor cat – honestly I don’t think anyone uses our letterbox in the door anymore – everyone uses the postbox.
This is an absolutely brilliant idea!!! I need to get one of these. I have never seen them advertised before. Thank you
Honestly, they are incredible! I would suggest them to everyone, ours is used all the time.
It’s a good idea and would mean I wouldn’t have to get up for the postman when he rings the bell when I’m having a lie-in! Lol.
Haha it really makes such a difference at times.
This sounds so handy, I hate missing parcels when I go out, it would be great to have one of these.
It is the worst when you miss one isn’t it 🙁
This is a very good idea for parcels
What a great idea, so helpful for you and a lot of others.
This is a great idea, I didn’t even know they existed!
Great idea. My parcels usually get left with a neighbour who says he doesn’t mind, but I do feel guilty.
This looks great, it’s quite a common way for delivery in some countries such as Australia and I think it makes sense
this is great, I could do with something like this, thanks for reviewing it
This would be a great idea for me, it would save me trips to the post office to collect my parcels x
I much prefer this as my dogs favourite hobby is eating my post!
Great that you have something that works for you to help take away some of present issues.
With alot of our packages usually need a signature so wouldn’t work for us but I do like the idea of the box never the less.
I think it is fantastic idea especially for day when i cannot get to the door or as you say when you are away from home.
yes i like my parcels lol this would be a great place to store them till i get home x
Haha definitely we all want them nice and safe!
These look great especially when having a chug that’s very inquisitive and thinks everything’s for him hehe
Oh no bless him! They do some which slot on the back of your door as well, my cousin has one as her bunnies like to eat everything.
These look great for smaller parcels. Quite often miss the postman and having parcels redelivered so this would help out 🙂
It’s such a pain isn’t it when you just miss them!
Thanks for reviewing! I really trust your opinion and it is nice to get advice from others!
Aww, thank you – honestly I’m so chuffed with this box – it is great.
Fantastic review !
Still a bit sceptical, call me old fashioned.
This was such a helpful post. I, like you, have always been under the illusion that everyone would need a key to put my parcel’s in, which I thought was pretty inconvenient. So it’s super interesting to find out that isn’t the case. I have one question though; You said it needs to be unlocked with a key once they’ve put the parcel in and locked it. What if there where more than one parcel delivery that day? Would they then have to knock regardless?
I think it’s a really good idea, and something I will definitely look into and consider for myself.
Thanks for sharing this.
Han, xo
Yeah sadly if there is more than one delivery with this particular box they would have to knock, you can get boxes which are built to accept multiple deliveries though as well they are more expensive to buy though 🙂
I actually think this is genius! Most of my parcels get left with a neighbour if I’m not in, but With Royal Mail you have to rearrange delivery or pick it up, it’s a pain! I think this would be perfect for someone like me.
It’s a pain isn’t it – I hate having to rearrange a delivery I have to admit.
This is fab as I get so many parcels
It really is such a great product! I don’t know what I would do without it now.
I am like you, due to my disability it can take me a little while to get to the door. I am going to look into this box
It is so helpful honestly and the post people have all loved it.
I like the idea of these letter boxes
What a great product for people who need them
I feel like I should get one just to spare my poor postman and postwoman the steep steps that lead to the front door. They are usually panting when they reach my door!
Oh bless them – I know a feel people who have steps like that.
Great review.
I nedd one of these as I am forever missing deliveries!
They are so good!
This looks amazing, will definately look into getting one
I honestly really do suggest one – they are such a great help!
Yeah if it needs a signature they still knock on the door, there’s no way out of that one sadly.
I have been unsure about having one of these before. I will give it some more thought
They really are worth it! I’ve been so impressed with ours and honestly, everyone uses it now.
oh now this sounds like a great idea. I miss many parcels whilst at work
It is such an amazing idea – I mean of course some won’t fit, some need signing for but it will help with a % at least!
Many drivers delivering to us require a signature, and the box wouldn’t help with these deliveries.
Also we often have two or three deliveries a day, if the first driver locks the box you are back to square one with the other deliveries. At times those drivers delivering to us seem to have an impossible schedule with 60 or more parcels to deliver and they just don’t have time to wait or work out how to open and then lock a box. (in the worst case we get an email saying the driver called and there was no answer, despite our security camera showing no-one coming and even no vans coming into our close)
The system of opening and locking it is simple – the box is just pushed shut, they pull the door open, pop the parcel in and twist the lock – it is such a simple system, it’s pretty much common sense on how it works when you see it – though there are instructions. I’ve not had any driver complain about it making their job harder (I mean if it did they just wouldn’t use it). In fact, everyone I have spoken to has wished more people had one as it makes their deliveries so much more simple, as they don’t need to knock and wait, they know they can place it safely.
For me as well having 1 of 3 deliveries is better than having 0 of 3, however I can see the system wouldn’t work for everyone.
I keep meaning to get one of these-I order a lot of stuff!
They are great – well worth the investment I think.
I like the idea but we haven’t anywhere to put one! We don’t really have a front, just space for the two wheelie bins!
Oh, that’s a shame – definitely the downside of them – I’m sure I could have done with a bigger one but no space lol.
This looks like a great idea. Our house has 3 floors, and I always seem to be on the top floor when the doorbell rings, and then I struggle to get downstairs before the postman or delivery person gives up and leaves.
Oh no that’s a nightmare – it is so hard at times isn’t it – we have a small bungalow but I struggle to walk at times so I can take forever to get to the door.
I like the idea. My Grandparents have one of these & find it really useful.
It is so useful, I didn’t think I would find it as useful as I do to be honest.
I never want to be dictated to by the postman as to when to get dressed on a morning so this would be ideal
Haha that is so true – I feel awful opening the door in my dressing gown!
I have a parcel box already. It is so useful!
Aren’t they just! I can’t imagine not having one now lol.
The parcel box would be brilliant for us, such a clever idea
It really is – I had it in my head I would need to give out keys and things but nope – so simple!
great idea
These look a godsend especiually as my older sons order their own stuff now and expect me to be waiting at home for the postman!
Oh no! Nightmare! I hate missing the postman and wondering what I have missed lol.
Thanks for the post. I live in a block of flats where the mail isn’t secure. There’s been a few parcels & letters not arrive over the years and you never know if a neighbour or one of their visitors have got sticky fingers. I’ve been meaning to look for something like this, so thanks for giving me some good ideas.
Oh no that’s awful 🙁 it is such a shame you can’t just know your things are safe. I think in flat blocks they are starting use things like this more and more, I know they do supply new builds often so that’s great, but no good for those in older ones.
Great review, this sounds like a terrific idea! This would definitely come in handy for me. I have been looking in to personal parcel/post boxes lately and it’s refreshing to read someone elses thoughts on this. I have been wondering on how well these work as I wasn’t too sure on how secure they were. But after reading your review I’m convinced – good idea!
I have to admit I’d thought and then had these preconceived ideas and I was so wrong! They are such a great idea and people from the outside can’t tell if it’s empty or full.
oh I need one of those, had some parcels stolen and been looking for a solution to keep them safe
Oh gosh that is so awful 🙁 I hope this helps you a little.
Cool I like that would ideal for me as I am always getting mail some big and some small item so his would be perfected for me.
It is the perfect mix as it has the mailbox at the top which fits smaller parcels and letters then the bigger one for the larger bits.
These look like a great idea, if I get a delivery when I’m out, more often than not they leave it on the front doorstep and it gets wet
Oh no that’s a nightmare! The last thing you need is wet parcels!
Brilliant idea for parcels save missing the postman & having to go to the post office
Definitely – I have loved not having to get things redelivered and having to wait in and hope lol.
I could do with this – currently the wheelie bin is the delivery man’s favourite spot to leave parcels!
No that is awful! What if it gets taken by the binmen!
Think this would be a great idea for my daughter who receives lots of parcels.
Honestly, it makes life so much easier!
This sounds brilliant! So useful and would give me peacenik of mind, especially in terms of safety and security.
It really does, I don’t worry at all anymore about my parcels.
This is something that I have been looking at lately, great review!
I am so glad people are finding it useful.
Brilliant idea!
Great idea , whoo thankyou
This is definately a good idea, my parcels always end up going “missing”. I will have to see if they do bigger ones though
It is so horrid when something goes missing, isn’t it! I always worry when something doesn’t turn up.
These look really useful
These are a fab idea especially if you have shared accommodation
I think they are being used more in shared accommodation now.
Great idea, as I have to have many parcels redelivered x
It is horrid having to have things redelivered, isn’t it.
This looks great and might be a good idea for my dad
Definitely! Well worth seeing if he thinks it would be useful!
A good solution for postal workers who need to leave small packages safely. I have a postbox which is locked but it’s only for letters.
It is so simple to use! I love that there are two parts as well – so smaller ones are safer from being crushed.
Brilliant – I have been wondering how well these work – are they secure and so on so it’s great to read a review from a real person.
I have to admit I wasn’t sure how they worked at all and so it was really surprising to see how simple to use they are.
I hadn’t realised how the lock works, it’s so simple now you describe it!
It makes perfect sense when you know, doesn’t it?
I think it’s a good idea. Better than having to collect them from the post office, which for us means a drive in the car. I think a lot of parcels might not fit in this though.
It’s the same here – in fact I’m not even sure where ours as, as our postal district is different to our council district it gets confusing lol.
I’ve seen a few of these about on my travels. I’ve had a few lost parcels in the past so I think it’s a great idea!
Lost parcels are the worst aren’t they! Some divers like to leave things all over the place.
This is so handy and would solve so many parcel problems for people who work all day. Everyone needs one of these!
They are such a great idea – honestly the difference it has made.
Top idea!
This looks brill just what I need
It is wonderful – only people who seem to have an issue with it is amazon.
I love the idea of this but would need a much bigger one as we get things like sacks of dog food raw and boxes of dog treats & bones too, I’ve been looking on the website & they are out of our price range sadly
Aww that is a shame – they are quite expensive when the sizes get large.
They are brill – style and practical – id love one too
They are so good – definitely a help to have at home.
Great review. Thank you for sharing.
Your welcome – glad it was useful.
what a great idea for those times when you are out!
It is fantastic and gets used all the time and we don’t have to worry about going out when something is due.
I was delivering Labour leaflets before the elections (the candidate was competent, but lost unfortunately), and I saw quite a lot of these- they seem to be the fashion! xx
My Dad was doing similar for a candidate here – he said he was always pleased to see one, after he got his fingers nipped a couple of times.
Looks great I definitely think this would be useful for me!
It really is such a great product – the postmen even use the letterbox there rather than ours in the door now.
Wow that is a great product. I’m happy to hear it’s working out for you. It would be handy where I live as I am in a flat and the mailman leaves all our mail and parcels downstairs in the lobby open for anyone to take. Luckily my neighbours are trustworthy but things can happen. Thank you for the possible idea in the future
Oh no that’s not good at all – I know they sell to a lot of landlords of flats and apartment blocks when they are being built, it’s a shame they aren’t offered in all of them.
What an excellent idea, especially with purchasing so much on line I seem to have a lot of deliveries and you have to wait in for the courier. Why hasn’t;t someone thought of this before!
It is so hard when you have to wait in isn’t it? I always struggle on days like that, at least I don’t need to now 😉
I have always wondered if the boxes were secure
It’s really interesting isn’t it – it’s like a mystery that is now understood lol.
It’s a good idea especially for leaving things when you’re out I never would have thought of this
I had seen them but had no idea how the postman accessed them so I had never considered one, but it’s so simple!
This looks really good – secure and attractive too. I shall look into getting one of these.
It is so good honestly, I don’t know what I would do without it now.
looks great quality and sturdy and looked like reliable service
It is such a sturdy box and well designed for both us and the people who leave things inside.
I have thought about one of these, I never knew if they were any good
Honestly, I don’t think I would have got one if I hadn’t been offered this one to try, but I don’t know what I would do without one now! It’s one of those useful things you didn’t know you needed until you got it.
I love the idea of this it would come in really handy for a lot of people i live in an upstairs flat and often the postman doesnt wait around long enough for me to get to the door
I think a lot of newer flat buildings are having boxes like this put in as part of their design now.
I’ve never seen these before but I think they are a brilliant idea and I’d definitely be up for having one for sure
It is so good – I am really impressed with it – you can set it so the door is closed but not locked as well for when the wind is high.
I have been thinking about a parcel box for a while, I always seem to be out when I have a delivery, I swear they wait for me to go out!
Haha I feel the same often, if you do go for one, I would definitely suggest looking this one 🙂
I have been thinking of getting one of these as I am so fed up with missing post. Looks good
Honestly it’s really good, I was at my cousins the other day and she was one of their boxes which catches the mail on the inside as her rabbits keep nibbling it, it was really solid and well made too.
What a brilliant idea, my brother needs something like this & my mum has been racking her brain on what to buy him for Christmas so I am going to recommend this to her. Thankfully with myself I have two doors so one stays open for parcel men & we have cctv cameras with a note on the door that you are being watched & recorded.
Honestly, it has made such a difference to me, the postmen all love it as well, as I’m sure it makes it easier on them to know they can just pop things in.
This is a fantastic solution for both parties, the delivery man, so the parcel doesn’t get lost and you so you don’t have to answer the door all the time. I hope you feel better soon!
Thank you so much – it really has helped us all I think!
What a brilliant idea, so practical and it looks really neat too. Great idea if you can’t get to the door xx
It is really so helpful, I’ve been amazed by how much it is being used.
This seems like a really practical and clever solution to all those little red slips!
It is so nice to know it is there, I mean not everything is going to fit but we’ve definitely dodged some red slips already.
This sounds great – I could definitely do with something like that as I am always missing parcels!
Honestly, it is fab – 100% suggest something like it.
Thanks for the review. I grew up in a country that has outside letterboxes so always thought it odd that front doors have letterboxes cut into them in the UK. Apart from the negative environmental impact due to heat loss, I prefer not to be disturbed by things being put through my front door.
I am planning on installing an outside letter and parcel box next year and swapping my front door.
It does make sense in some ways them not being in our own front doors doesn’t it? I thought it was odd other countries didn’t have them in their front doors when I was younger but now it just makes sense.
Oh my goodness I need one of these! I have my parcels delivered to my grandparents as they are in more than me but this would make it so much easier for them
Honestly, it is fantastic – I really do suggest anyway get it, no matter if it’s because you aren’t in or can’t get to the door!
I think this is a great idea . I too am not always up when the postman comes . It looks nice and strong and safe too
It is really strong and sturdy – my Dad did a great job of putting it as well and it is so safe.
These are such great ideas for those who are out a lot or who are unable to get to the door due to health. I have often thought about getting one for us x
It is well worth it – I would 100% suggest one for whatever reason, strong, safe and secure!
I think this post box would be very useful for me. I receive lots of posts and this would be handy to have.
It is great if you have a lot of things coming in, you don’t have to worry about it when you go out.
We used to have one of these where we used to live and they are surprisingly big! It’s also a great way of just making sure your post is safe too.
It surprised me how big it is and how much you can fit in it to be honest.
I think this is such a great idea, I wonder if they do bigger ones as sometimes I get quite big parcels. We want to have some sort of safe place when we move for when we’re both at work x
They definitely do, do bigger ones 🙂 this one was just the perfect size for the space we had as we had to have the landlord agree with what we wanted to do.
I have pets and I always worry about what gets put through the letterbox. This is a great solution!
That is another great reason to have one, they do also do a box you place on the back of your letterbox which will catch anything being put through.
This is an awesome idea for homeowners to upgrade their mailbox. I have a friend who always has an issue with one of our carriers leaving a package outside, doesn’t get notified, only to discover it’s outside and it’s been raining or snowing.
Oh no that’s not good – on the whole ours are good but we do get the odd one which leaves you scratching your head on why they thought it was a good idea!
I saw this on Dragon’s Den or a similar one they do look handy!
I didn’t see that – but Ash’s parents said about it when they saw ours! It’s a different company but a similar idea 🙂
Such a great idea, we’re always missing postman,I’m it’s so annoying. but this looks like it could work for us. Thank you for sharing.
It is absolutely fantastic honestly! I was so surprised by how much it has helped.
We as a family get lots of letters and parcels and sometimes we tend to miss the postman as we are out on errands. This Easybox Letter and Parcel Box is just too cool, and a fantastic idea to ensure our parcels are safe when delivered.
It is really good honestly, when I was suggested I was like I could see it may help, but honestly it is fantastic, the post people seem to prefer it over our normal letterbox now too!
I like the idea – my dad has one. My only worry is that I get lots of parcels, sometimes up to 6 a day from different couriers … it would need to be a huge box!!
Haha, they do, do bigger ones, which might help. I have to admit I do worry about busy days still lol.
At first I did wonder how would parcels would fit through that small opening, but after reading your post, it made sense. It is definitely useful to have such a postbox, especially if you receive many parcels. The fact that the postman can lock it after he puts the parcel in it’s so genius!
Honestly, I thought that when I first looked online at it is as well. So glad it wasn’t just me who’s brain went that way. The postman has been awesome with it, he knocked the door one day and was like trust someone to want a signature now you have that lovely box, while the My Hermes guy commented he will never see me again!
Great idea these, keep my parcel dry and safe from getting nicked
It is fab honestly, works so well!
These are fantastic things. My dad has one and which is very similar and I think they are a great idea. x
They are wonderful, I would never have thought of how good they are till I tried one.
brilliant, like you I am in bed when they call, plus I am deaf, so if I am not looking at my flashing light door bell alarm, I do not know they are there waiting -perfect
It would be amazing for you! I’ve found that even if it’s just normal letters they have taken to using this which actually helps too as I don’t have to try and work out how to get the post off the floor anymore.
Fantastic review! Ive shown my partner this and we are going to look into it asap xx
Ohh I hope you find it as useful as I do! I would love to know once you have been using it for a while.
