D-Day Infographic
This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Normandy Landings, which happened on the 6th June 1944, a key point in the ending of World War Two. D-Day saw around 150,000 allied troops landing on the beaches of Normandy, with the following fight leaving between 2.500 and 4,000 allied troops dead and as many as 9,000 Germans.
I remember in secondary school taking a trip around some of the battle fields and graveyards across France and Belgium from the war, all of which had a huge impact on me, as even now they are such atmospheric places, instilling on me memories I will never forget and I am sure this year will see many more people visiting those haunting places.
So why not take a few minutes to remember all those who bravely gave their lives so we could live in the world we do today and after check out this infographic from Brittany Ferries dedicated to the history of D-Day.
