A recent study investigating the use of umbilical cord blood cells yielded promising outcomes. In this study women experiencing Treatment Resistant Depression, and their outcomes were compared against a control group receiving a placebo. The test group received concentrated umbilical cord blood cells which were administered via a dose of millions of cells through weekly injections over a span of 4 weeks, with 1-week intervals.
The research indicated that the concentrated umbilical cord blood cell treatment showed potential in addressing treatment resistance observed in patients with depression.
