Brown Fox from Darwin’s Home: Review and Competition

I completely admit I have a soft spot for all things cuddly – I have a collection of ‘special’ teddies that all have meaning to me, as well as a small selection of Steiff’s, so when an email landed asking if I would like to review something from Darwin’s Home and this cute Mr Fox was among the beautiful pieces on that list – I just couldn’t say no to him.

If you haven’t heard of Darwin’s Home before they are an online store that sells home products which are made ethically and sustainably, they look for chemical free products that will be better for your heath, as well as products that offer a unique look and are quite often sold only to Darwin’s Home from small designers. Each piece is either made in Europe or is made according to the Fair Trade charter and has made been made from quality materials, meaning you know you are onto a good thing as soon as you click onto Darwin’s Home.

Mr Fox here comes from Anne-Claire PETIT a Dutch company that specialises in handmade products. Quite often the items that Anne-Claire PETIT sells have been designed and made in developing countries, with most of the production taking place in Asia, where traditional ancestral skills are passed from one generation to the next in different communities across the countryside.

Foxy has been made using organic cotton and are completely safe as they are naturally hypo-allergenic and free from pesticides as well as having been made using eco-friendly materials.

Honestly I cannot big up this little brown fox enough, he is around 22cm in height and is made of a tight stitch; the tail allows him to easily sit up, making him a great decorative piece for big kids as well as a lovely toy for those younger.

He really is well made and as they say they aim for, he really does seem like he could last for a long time, the cotton used is a mix of cream and brown with black eyes, nose and mouth, I’m a real fan of the detail put into it from the swirls on the end of his feet, to the edged in brown, cream ears (and he’s quite snuggle as well 😉 ). Making him I think at least a definite must have for fox lovers, both adult and child alike.
