Stormur Slippers from Simba Sleep Review
AD = PR Sample I received a pair of Stormur Slippers from Simba Sleep for consideration on my blog.
When it comes to slippers, comfort is always top of my list, but let’s be honest, practicality matters too. So when I was recently asked if I would like to try the Stormur Slippers from Simba Sleep, I thought yes please!
Simba offers a range of slippers for both men and women, in different colours and styles. The Stormur range focuses on warmth, comfort, and support, featuring premium materials such as Merino wool, a cushioned reflexology-based footbed, and a durable outdoor-style sole.
Design and Styles

The Stormur slippers have a simple, practical design which feels more like a proper indoor-outdoor shoe than a flimsy pair of slip-ons. They come in a range of neutral, easy-to-wear colours and are available in different styles across both the men’s and women’s collections.
This makes them a good option if you prefer slippers that work around the house, keeping your feet both supported and cosy all day long.
Sizing: What You Need to Know
One of the first things worth mentioning is sizing. Simba notes that these slippers run small, and I agree. The sizing is listed in UK sizing. When the slippers arrived, I noticed that on the box, they were shown in EU measurements. So the 7 I ordered was actually a EU 40.
As someone who sits between a 6 and 7, I usually opt for an EU 40 when it’s available, and that choice worked well here. If you’re between sizes or prefer a bit of extra room in slippers, sizing up is definitely worth considering.
It’s worth checking the size guide carefully before ordering, as it lists UK and EU sizing. If, like me, you know your shoe size well in EU sizing, you are better off working off that.
Materials and Merino Wool Comfort
The Strmur slippers use Merino wool in their upper (alongside calf leather). Merino wool is a great material because it is naturally soft, breathable, and temperature-regulating. In everyday use, this makes the slippers feel cosy and comfortable, particularly in cooler weather.
While the insole uses Calf leather and gel solution for pressure points, the midsole is made of polyether cork-effect material, and the sole is polyether and rubber.
Cushioned Footbed and Massage Layer
Simba highlights a cushioned footbed and massage-style layer as part of the comfort design. I was a bit worried I would find this layer uncomfortable; however, I actually didn’t seem to notice it.
That said, this wasn’t necessarily a downside. The footbed feels supportive and comfortable, without any awkward raised areas or firm pressure points. If you’re expecting a noticeable massaging sensation, you may be disappointed, but if you simply want a smooth and comfortable sole, these deliver.
Quality, Build, and Outdoor Sole
The overall build quality of the Stormur slippers feels solid, and I think they will stand up to the test of time.
The outer sole is sturdy and has a more “shoe-like” feel than many traditional soft slippers. This means they can handle quick trips outside, for the bins out, collecting parcels, or popping into the garden, without feeling unsuitable.
This also helps with stability when walking, especially on harder floors.
Delivery and Shipping Experience
Simba ordered me 2 pairs of slippers, one for review and one for giveaway, which left me a little confused by the delivery, as one pair arrived within a few days, and the other took a few weeks to arrive.
Both had seemed to be in stock when I was asked to choose a pair to review, and I wasn’t updated about any delays. It was around the new year, so perhaps the holidays had caused some issues.
However, I felt it was worth mentioning in case someone wanted a pair in a hurry and ended up waiting.
Everyday Wear Experience
In daily use, the Stormur slippers are very easy to wear (just slip them on and off) and comfortable enough to wear for long days around the home. They feel supportive without being restrictive and keep your feet feeling cosy and warm.
Personally, I find they work well for working from home, relaxing in the evenings, or wearing around the house during colder months. Because of the sturdier sole, they also feel more substantial than many cheaper options.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Available in both men’s and women’s styles
- Choice of colour and design
- Merino wool lining adds warmth and comfort.
- Well-made and durable feel
- Sturdy sole suitable for quick outdoor use
- Comfortable for long periods of wear
- Breathable
Cons
- Sizing runs small and can be confusing.
- EU sizing may not suit everyone.
- Delivery experience may be inconsistent.
- Higher price point than basic slippers
Final Thoughts: Are They Worth It?
Overall, the Stormur Slippers from Simba Sleep are a comfortable, well-made option if you’re looking for something more than just your average slipper.
They are suitable for both men and women, come in a range of styles, and feel designed for everyday use rather than occasional wear. The Merino wool lining and sturdy sole are real plus points, making them practical as well as cosy.
As long as you’re mindful of the sizing and don’t expect a strong massage effect, they offer a reliable and comfortable slipper that should last well with regular use. Making them perfect for someone looking for a slipper that feels closer to a proper indoor shoe than a cosy, grippy sock.
If you fancy getting your hands on a pair of the Stomur Slippers, which come in at £69 and are the cheapest of the range.
