5 Delightful Housewarming Gifts for a New Home
Gifts for a new home can be hard to find for some people. However, the magic of a new house or flat is something worth celebrating. So, from delightfully scented candles to stunning custom property portraits, here are some suggestions that can help make a new house a home.
A Comfy Piece of Furniture

Everyone’s taste in furniture is different. However, there are some timeless pieces that pretty much all homes need. Something comfy to sit on is always welcome, and a new couple on a new property may not have much yet. You can make their day with something like plushy fabric armchairs by CFS or even a beanbag chair for a reading nook. There are tons of options when it comes to comfy furniture, but be sure to buy something they need and not what you want!
Candles and Diffusers
The scent of home can be one of the most endearing to which we are exposed. Sense of smell has the power to instantly recall memories, some that are even long-forgotten. Candles and diffusers are an ideal way to reinvoke the magic of treasured memories, such as holidays and special occasions from childhood. This is why they are always welcome by most people as gifts for any special day. However, they can also help make a new house smell like a forever home.
Foodie Gifts for a New Home

There are always foodies in the family. And because there is so much available, foodies are among the easiest people to please with gifts. When moving into a new home, there may not be much there. You can make a foodie’s day with thoughtful culinary gifts they will treasure:
- Everyone loves a food hamper, and you can even get vegan healthy snacks too!
- Foodies love anything they can use, such as cheese boards, gadgets, and cookbooks.
- For discerning tastes, wine collections and coffee machines are always welcome.
A Portrait of the House
Art in all its forms is highly subjective. So, it can be tricky to buy a piece of artwork for someone as a housewarming gift. However, you can almost guarantee money won’t be wasted with a special art item. If your friends or family members have purchased a home, what better way to commemorate it than with a portrait of the house? Most people feel an instant connection to their new home, and this could be just the gift they need to take that special bond further.
Cushions, Blankets and Throws

A comfy house makes the home. Most of us go out of our way to make a home as comfy as we like it. We also spend a lot of money doing so! However, there are some traditional gifts that always help, no matter the personal tastes of the recipients. Cushions, blankets, and throws can be added to any furniture during any season for a ton of reasons. You can also buy vegan, sustainable, and organic products to ensure they align with the recipient’s personal values.
Summary
A comfy piece of furniture such as plushy chairs makes great housewarming gifts for a new home. For any foodies in the family, you can also buy gifts such as hampers. But blankets, cushions, and throws are always welcome as they have many uses across the home.

Some wonderful ideas here. I love the welcome mat.
I’m never good at thinking of gifts so this is really useful, thank you.
It’s so hard isn’t it – I always struggle with gifts and worry if they will be OK.
This is interesting as my granddaughter is about to buy her first house and I want to give her something besides the kettle and toaster I have already given her. I think a nice throw or cushions would be a good idea as her sofa is not new and needs brightening up
Congratulations to her on buying a house that is such a big thing!
I know I’d love food, throws or candles for a new place. Anything to make it feel more homely after unpacking and collapsing! Honestly a food hamper sounds like such a good idea for the first night in a new place.
These are good ideas, I also think essentials like cleaning products and even toilet roll and kitchen roll can be useful too!

This is so true – I really need a new sofa at some point.
I think a funky doormat like the one in the feature makes sense good pocket friendly gift.

I like to be seasonal for Halloween , Christmas etc
I end up always going for candles for a gift, I love these other ideas. Perfect.
I am always happy to get a candle as a gift I have to admit.
I always struggle with gift ideas. Thank you for sharing this.
