Wype Toilet Paper Gel Review
PR Sample – I was kindly sent the range of Wype included in this post for consideration on my blog. Some links may be affiliate links – if you buy via these links you pay nothing more but I get a small amount directly from the company
We all know there are many things we shouldn’t be flushing down the toilet. However, with bidets not being very common, it can be so easy to reach for a wet wipe and flush. So what alternatives are there out there?
Wype

Wype could be a brand you have heard of if you watch Dragons Den as they appeared in the 2022 season. During this time they left some people somewhat confused, while others really got behind the idea.
Personally, we’ve had drain issues so often that I’m cautious about what is put down the toilet in our house. I had previously swapped from “flushable” wet wipes to a spray, however, the issue with a wet spray is that toilet paper doesn’t hold together well. As such, I was interested to see how Wype stood up compared to this.
My Thoughts on Wype

I try and be as honest as I can in all my reviews so I should preface this with the fact that before I was approached by Wype, they were a brand I already bought and used. After seeing them on Dragons Den when I needed to replace the bottle of wet spray I had, I decided to give Wype a try and in all honestly found them so much better.
The reasons I personally like Wype over other alternatives I’ve tried, is all down to the gel formula. I’ve found that means that the toilet paper doesn’t dissolve like when using a wet alternative. It also leaves you feeling a lot fresher and cleaner than just wiping with toilet paper alone.
That said there is one issue I have with Wype and that is the dispenser can get clogged up. I’ve found when this happens it needs to be soaked in warm water, so it is an easy fix, but just a little annoying when it happens.
Overall however I would definitely suggest Wype to anyone who is looking for a wet wipe alternative for their bathroom.
Where to Buy

Wype is sold in a couple of options, the first is the main-size dispenser, which can be refilled, while there is also a smaller travel-sized option. A starter kit can be bought with a dispenser + 1 refill or a dispenser + 1 mini.
It can be bought from their own website as well as Amazon (affiliate link). I have used both of these options. There is no real difference in price between the options, but Amazon Prime can mean they arrive with you quicker.
What do you think of the sound of Wype?

Love Wype in the bathroom but not keen on the travel sized ones not having a lid. It’s probably fine but it makes me nervous in case it leaks in my handbag.
Is this much different to anti-bac handgel? Might see if that works.
Yes please don’t use anti-bac in such a way – they often have a high level of alcohol or similar and would really hurt such a sensitive area.
What a great idea, I would certainly be happy to give it a try
Sounds like an interesting concept, great for the environment too!
Definitely it is well worth looking into if you do use something like wet wipes.
Any product that helps the environment definitely has my vote.
Definitely, I love that so many more companies are thinking that way.
Ahh brilliant, how interesting is this! Would love to try it
It is really good, my favourite out of the add to toilet roll options I’ve tried and one I will keep using.
This is a brilliant idea! I refuse to buy so called ‘flushable’ wipes as they are really bad for the environment.
I used to buy them I have to admit, but not anymore, I find this so much better to be honest anyway.
I’d never heard of Wype before. I like the idea of the starter set
It is a great set to start with and be able to try the range for sure!
I had not heard of Wype toilet paper gel before reading this. Definitely something I would consider when replacing my spray bottle next
Definitely worth looking into, I can’t remember the name of the brand I used before, but this one is definitely better and easier to use on toilet roll.
This sounds good, but I am not looking for a wet wipe alternative for my bathroom.
Oh finally, an alternative to wet wipes. We’ve tried the spray too and unless we fold our tissues three time over, it just dissolves the tissue which is really wasteful. Will definitely look into this. Very curious how a gel like substance will feel though.
It’s a nightmare isn’t it – you might as well just stick the paper under the tap with some. I found it took a bit of getting used to, but it’s not bad at all – if you aren’t sure perhaps start with a travel size to try it out.
That sounds like something I would buy. I hadn’t heard of this product until I read your blog so thanks for your review
Your welcome – I’m so glad I have introduced a few people to it I have to say.
Sound very refreshing and drainage friendly. Worth a try.
Definitely – I used to use wet wipes but we had so many drain issues and the plumber was like they say they are flushable but really they aren’t as they take so long to disintegrate they can still clog near the start.
Sounds brill – something I’d consider purchasing too
