Pimp My Salad Review
PR Samples – I was kindly sent a selection of Pimp My Salad for consideration on my blog.
Are you looking for something different to add to your meals? Something that can be added to salads, sprinkled on soups or just enjoyed as a snack? If the answer to these questions is yes, then let me introduce you to Pimp My Salad.
What is Pimp My Salad?
Offering a range of plant-based toppers, Pimp My Salad has been carefully created by founders Olga and Alex. They make sure their products are made from only the best, ethically sourced ingredients. The products included in this post are both vegan-friendly and gluten-free.
What’s more, they are made using a slow-dried cooking technique, which ensures that all the nutrients in the ingredients stay intact.
Alongside being all about nutritional value, Pimp My Salad has also made sure to be about taste and texture as well. After all, they believe that eating should be a pleasurable experience.
So what flavours did we try?
Coconut Bacon.

This meat-free bacon includes coconut slices which have been flavoured with herbs, spices and natural wood smoke. Offering up a natural crunchy bacon alternative.
This particular topping works well as a snack food, offering up the sweetness of coconut, against a salty smoky flavour.
Cashew Parm Cheez

This flavour uses raw cashews, sunflower seeds, nutritional yeast, organic kale and lemon peel to create its unique flavour.
We tried this both as a pasta topping and on soup and it offers up an interesting cheese alternative. We found it offers a mild cheese flavour next to a nutty crunchy side.
Activated Super Seed Sprinkles

A mix of 6 super seeds, including poppy and chia, alongside punchy spices and tamari, to give your tastebuds a real experience.
This one was a real favourite, making a lovely addition to salads, or addition to lentil cottage pie. They are also perfect for a snack if you fancy a cluster or two.
Overall Thoughts
The Pimp My Salad range comes in at £4.99 per pack (170g) and can be used in so many different ways. They are great for adding extra flavour or texture to a meal.
We definitely enjoyed trying them in different ways and could see them being something we would buy from time to time.

What do you think about the sound of Pimp My Salad, would you like to try it?

I’ve not heard of Pimp my Salad but it seems like a great idea
These sound really good. Be great to try the coconut bacon.
These look really good. Such a simple way to spice up salads
Definitely and the fact there are different kinds as well is perfect.
The flavours sound lovely, I’d really like to try Cashew Parm Cheez first!
Do let me know what you think if you end up giving it a try!
Ooh i love a good salad and am always looking for ways to jazz them up. These sound fab.
If you give them a try I would love to know what you think of them!
Super Sprinkles sounds fabulous to make a lovely salad and something different. Not sure about the coconut bacon though.
I think as always – not every product will be for everyone, but well worth trying the ones you like the sound of.
They sound really yummy! I think if I bought the super seed one I would probably just eat the bag as a snack, it looks delicious.
They can all definitely just be eaten out the bag as a snack – which is great!
I like the sound of all 3 flavours, bu particularly the Coconut Bacon!
Let me know what you think if you decide to give it a try!
Sounds interesting with those flavours, we would just need to check the contents for preservatives and any other chemicals
It is always worth checking the ingredients for yourself. However, I believe the ingredients are all natural for instance the Cashew Parm Cheez ingredient list from Natures Health Box is: Cashew Nuts (55%), Sunflower Seeds, Nutritional Yeast, Dried Kale, Lemon Peel, Himalayan Pink Salt.
These look so yummy! agree with pamtay that this current trend of veggie stuff pretending to be meat does not rock my boat at all. I have been vegetarian for over 50 years and cannot comprehend why a fellow veggie would even want to eat anything pretending to be meat, or meat flavour, but also can understand if some actually still want meat but are giving up for eco or health reasons then they can still get their fix!
Yeah, I think it’s very each to their own – I am a meat eater but do sometimes go for meat alternatives, so I do think it can help people make a more eco choice at times.
@MARIA ROGERS, there is nothing wrong with fantastic veggies and delicious spices!
The smoky coconut topping sounds lovely but I have a thing about veggie food being called ‘bacon’ etc
I can understand that – what would you think would be a better name?
@Sarah-Louise Bailey, well for this one probably smoky BBQ instead of bacon
That makes sense! I’m awful at thinking up names for things I have to admit.
Oh I love this idea. It reminds me of the topping Japanese people put on their rice to add flavour and texture although it is nothing as healthy as this. This actually adds nutritional value. Currently £4.99 is a bit expensive for me though.
I totally agree that it is so much better when the topping adds something of value to a meal rather than just because.
