August 3rd – Life After a Lockdown #70
The past week seems to have passed in a bit of a blur to me and I can’t really think of any major events, bar the ongoing Olympics which has had some amazing outcomes for all different countries.
So this week I shall just get:
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 70 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I’m pretty exhausted and don’t feel too grand at the moment. I’m struggling with all the discourse between people, those who do want the vaccine, those who don’t. Those who think we should ditch everything and those still being cautious.
I see so many people arguing across social media and for some reason, it just puts me on edge.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
I had a pedicure on Tuesday in the garden which was really nice, Wednesday I had more bloods taken and another CT at the hospital. I’m not sure if I had a reaction to the CT dye but by Wednesday evening I had a really upset stomach and spent the rest of the week just resting up.
I was back at the hospital yesterday for physio for the first time since before the first lockdown.
Personally, I find hospital appointments really draining and definitely put me at enough exposure to deal with.
3) What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
Try and understand different peoples points of view. We can’t all agree on everything but don’t laugh at people who want to be more careful than you. This of course works both ways as well.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
If you want to keep wearing a mask do it – we’ve been at the hospital more than anywhere else and people are definitely still wearing them there.
Remember that just because rules ease doesn’t mean you have to ease them yourself at the same time. Do what feels safe to you.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I did a review last week of Love Leggings and I have to say they are really comfortable. If you are after leggings or jeggings then 100% give them a try. Also do enter to win £50 to spend with them on the post as well.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
My blog – it means when I have really bad days I can take some time to myself. This is something with how often it happens I could do in a traditional job.
The fact I’ve been able to build a business that works around my health is a big thing.
7) What has made you smile this week?
Having a bit of TLC and getting a pedicure – it was a bit of a mission as it began raining halfway through so we took up shelter under the porch and using a large umbrella.
It is definitely something to look back on and smile when the day of not caring who comes in and out of your home again come around.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

This has been a nice summer, but I feel the anxiety setting in about the new school year, since covid rates are going back up.
It’s a bit worrying to have things will go when autumn and winter comes around isn’t it?
Yes, the Olympics made me think that maybe we have a chance and a hope to turn to almost normal life.
Definitely, it feels like a bit of normality even without the crowds all around doesn’t it.
Hope you feel a little better Lovely , here is as if covid never happened!. Very worrying if I am being honest as I do think we all should still be very careful and cautious
Thank you! It is crazy isn’t it – some people seem to think it’s all over which is just worrying.
I got to see some family members this week. that made me very happy.
Oh that is amazing, it is so nice to get to see family isn’t it?
We’re still in lockdown here in my country. In fact, we reverted to stricter quarantine classification because of the looming threat of the Delta variant.
Oh gosh that isn’t good but it is probably the best for your safety, it is worrying how quickly the delta variant is spreading.
It’s nice to see things starting to go back to normal, but at the same time I see some going back to how it was when it first started. I honestly feel like things will never be normal again.
Definitely, I think everything feels very mixed at the moment, I am the same as you I know myself I don’t feel like I will ever feel that security of just doing things without fear of a virus again.
Things are slowly getting back to normal, Olympics are here and occupy a lot of our time too.
The Olympics have been incredible, haven’t they? They always seem to bring about a feeling of togetherness with them.
It sounds like a busy week. I am in need of a pedicure. How lovely that it was done in your garden.
It was really nice to just sit outside and it didn’t feel as worrying as having someone inside.
I am so fed up with all the arguments on vaccines and masks, I just carry on in my own little bubble, one of my boys is anti the vaccine and I have had so many discussions with him over it I just said it’s your life and your body. I love Love Leggings and both me and C wear them they are in my opinion the best leggings around
It’s crazy isn’t it – the whole thing just puts me on edge for some reason. Both sides seem to want to push their side and it’s a losing battle for both sides as the other isn’t going to change their mind. They are so good aren’t they, have you tried their jeggings?
It was my daughters birthday yesterday so had family over was a nice day
Oh happy belated birthday to your daughter I hope it was a good day!
I agree. Even though my family is vaccinated and the rules changed. We still do the same precautions.
You have to look after yourself don’t you – and try and keep your loved ones safe.
To answer question number 2. I’m still careful but I’m already going out a little and visiting my relatives more now. Life must go on.
I am glad you are doing what you are able and feel comfortable around it.
The medical places here still require face masks. I think that is a place that should always keep the face masks.
Definitely, I think it would be good if medical locations did and that people just did in general when they feel under the weather.
Yes! Working for yourself is such a great thing. Glad you’ve been able to make a success of it!
Thank you so much it has meant a lot to me and makes me feel better about myself as well.
Sorry to hear that you’re not feeling well, I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you so much I have my fingers crossed for sure!
I don’t blame you for being on edge, the discourse is rather getting to me too. So many opinions. I am glad you managed to have some TLC though.
Definitely, I think it’s a bit much at times and I seem to get dragged into things when I don’t mean to!
I am so sorry you are feeling so exhausted, I am glad you managed to have some TLC though! xx
Thank you so much – it was nice to have a pamper I have to admit.
I love the sound of a pedicure, it always gives me a boost to have a little pamper session.
It can really pick you up can’t it – I quite fancy having a spa day sometime – when I feel able.
This week seems to have flown by, it’s been lovely seeing athletes winning medals for our country
It has been incredible, hasn’t it? Such talented people out there at the Olympics.
I feel the same way, as I have some friends who are anti-vaxxers and others insisting on getting the vaccines so it is important for us to respect each other’s choice and move on.
Definitely – I myself have been vaccinated and that’s my choice, I’m sure I have some friends who have chosen to not as well.
It’s good that your work revolves around you and what you are able to do. I’m still wearing a mask when I go to crowded or busy public places. I don’t go out much but I’d rather err on the side of caution just in case.
It really has made a huge difference to me as I had nothing before blogging and was in a really bad place to be honest.
Things are slowly opening up here and we are cautiously optimistic that things are going to get better for real.
I do hope things get better and we don’t slip down into things being worse again for sure.
I am sorry you aren’t feeling the greatest. These are crazy times. My whole family is fully vaccinated so I’m feeling good about that.
I’m slowly getting over covid but I don’t regret not getting the vaccine because I know a few people that had terrible reactions to it.
Glad to hear you are slowly getting over COVID, I hope you have no long term issues from it.
