Utama Spice Review and Competition
Right now I think we all need some TLC. After all, we have been living in a strange world for a long time now.
Thankfully Utama Spice has come to the rescue having sent me a lovely little care package and offering up an amazing competition prize for those living in the UK and US.
Utama Spice.
Utama Spice is a natural skincare company based in Ubud, Bali. They look to harness natural ingredients and use traditional herbal knowledge to make unique products. Both for the body and the mind.
The brand began in 1989 when Dayu Suci and Melanie Templer saw the need to harness Bali’s traditional knowledge. As sadly with the rise of modern products, a decline was seen in the market for traditional herbal remedies.
Between them with Dayu’s knowledge of traditional remedies and Melania’s love for all things natural, they began handmaking products for friends and family.
Today their passion lives within Utama Spice, with the brand taking pride in everything they offer.
Body Care.
I was kindly sent a selection of their products to try out which included:
Shampoo #6. – An all-natural shampoo which is free from SLS and synthetics. It has been made with coconut oil and utilises ingredients such as Cocoa butter and castor oil to clean and moisturise, while also adding shine and aiding frizz.
Tropical Flower Body Butter. – Using a unique blend of coconut oil, seaweed and aloe vera, this particular body butter can be used from head to toe. The fragrance is uniquely made from a mix of ylang-ylang and vanilla for a tropical vibe.
Ocean Breeze Body Mist. – These body mists are designed to cool and hydrate the skin while giving an aromatherapy boost to the senses. This particular one offers a crisp scent, which is reminiscent of a day at the beach. It is refreshing and uplifting without being overpowering.
Wellkiss and Peppermint Lip Balm. – All of the lip balms from the Utama Spice range are made using virgin coconut oil and beeswax which have been infused with natural plant extracts to hydrate and protect. Wellkiss utilises lemon and lavender to heal, while peppermint offers a cooling sensation.
Aromatherapy.
Alongside skincare another large part of Utama Spices range is aromatherapy. From ceramic diffusers that can be used with their own blends of oils specifically for the diffusers use to essential oils, candles and incense sticks.
They even offer a beautiful range of atomisers such as the Danau which allows the oils to be diffused with the need for water.
I was sent the Clearing Candle, which is a beeswax candle, with minty fragrance. The clearing candle as you might expect has been cleverly made to clear your sense and your home. It is the perfect candle to get out when you are feeling a little under the weather.
Overall Thoughts.
I really like the idea behind Utama Spice, I think more than ever we need to try and protect traditional techniques.
When it comes to fragrance, all the items offer something different. They do have a very earthy natural undertone, but I like it.
When it comes to pricing, they are very reasonable. With lip balms costing $1.99, candles $13.99 and body butter $19.99.

Top of my wishlist is the 100% natural face serum which helps restore my skins natural health. Made with organic argan oil, cocoa butter, virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil and pure essential oils it will give me a boost xxxx
I’d love to try the acne night serum. It’s so difficult to find a good break out treatment which smells good too. This sounds brilliant.
The Lemongrass antibacterial handwash would be top of my list. I love the smell.
I would love to try the cocoa lip balm, as I always need to moisturise my lips and this looks brilliant.
If I was lucky enough to win I would spend the $100 on lots of their lovely candles and essential oils.
Hard choice but I think first up would be their natural face serum. I like to only use natural ingredients on my face and would like to find a really nice, natural, oil serum to use under my rosehip oil. Thanks
My first choice would be the rose allure body butter because I love the smell of roses.
Natural Face Serum sounds as if it would be ideal for my skin.
natural bug repellant would be top of my list as I much prefer to use natural remedies but hate being a feast for mozzies and midges!
Coconut Lotion because I have had problems with dry skin.
The cocunt lotion sounds so lush i can only imagine how good it smells

The Clearing Candle might help relieve my sinusitis for a while.
Coconut lotion lemongrass ginger, because it states that it lasts all day and I would love to use this product, so that it lasts all throughout the day.
Definitely some lip balm i love to try different brands and find the nicest
they all sound very nice, I think the lemongrass and the clearing candle would be my favourites.

The Sonoma Yi ultrasonic diffuser looks and sounds perfect! Ideal to have at the side of the bed to use as a lamp as well as for helping pop in some essential oils to relax with. Fingers tightly crossed!
The lavender soap, because I love the lavender perfume, so relaxing
I love the Body Balm and know this would be very soft and pampering!
Lemongrass antibacterial handwash for me, smells nice and keeps us safe at the same time.

The Senja Hair Treatment would be top of my list
The senja hair oil is top of my list for a regular hair treatment – the older I get the more dehydrated my hair seems to be, I think this is the boost it needs

There are so many fab products but at the top of my list would be the pore cleansing facial wash with clay.

Their Coconut Lotion in the Lemongrass Ginger scent. Ginger NEVER fails to make me happy (it’s an anti histamine and a natural anti anxiety remedy) – and that includes the smell! This would be a lovely reminder to pause and be happy and try to worry less everyday =)
