Perfect Your Summer Look With Boots
Summer is Coming!
The weather may not be telling us so, but it is!
Now it is something we all go through. As the weather changes so does our skin and what it needs.
For me in the winter, I find my skin can get very dry. While in the summer it’s more prone to be oily. So for me, when the weather gets hotter, my skincare gets lighter, especially in the day.
I also seem to change the type of makeup I use. For instance, in the summer I often feel like a tinted moisturiser is enough, compared to the full foundation of winter.
That said I can never do without a powder! Hello, shiny skin.
To try and get my summer skin prep, back on track this year Boots sent me some items, to help with making the summer vibe come alive.
So here are my summer Boots Beauty must-have items:
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright™ Face Primer.
This is perhaps a step on from the original Banana Powder and mixes skincare with makeup.
Filled with Vitamin C and E to help with signs of ageing as well as nourishing and conditing the skin. Added together with Banana powder-inspired pigments, this primer instantly illuminates your skin.
The reason this makes it onto my must-have list for summer is it can be used in so many ways. Yes, the name says primer and it is going to give you a beautiful illuminating base to put your make up on top of.
However, this isn’t the only way to wear it. I actually think on good skin days it is perfect to just pop on and go! While if you fancy adding a little bit more lustre to your skin, then you can even add some more on top!

bareMinerals Original Loose Mineral Foundation SPF15.
As I said earlier in the post, no matter the time of year I need a good powder.
I’ve decided for the summer to go for the original loose mineral foundation from bareMinerals. You might be surprised to hear this isn’t a foundation I’ve tried before, but let’s be realistic here I am clumsy.
So normally I go for a pressed powder, but I thought you know if you don’t try, you don’t know.
I was also surprised to see this one had an SPF, which is a must for any summer makeup item and something I need to think about more.

Too Faced Natural Eye Shadow Palette.
I am by no means good at makeup, in fact, I am probably as far from good as you can get, especially with now wearing contacts.
We are taught we should put on makeup before putting in contacts so you don’t get anything in your eye. However, let me tell you I can’t see a thing to do that. Thus I was naughty and tried doing it after putting in my contacts and even using the softest of brushes you get the feeling of an RGP lens being plunged deep into your eye.
Anyway enough of that!
I have long been a fan of Too Faced palettes, especially when it comes to those with natural shades. They are just so simple to work with, thanks to the fact they put together shades which work so well, so all you need to do is blend!
When it comes to the colours themselves, they as always have come up with highly pigmented colours, which don’t have huge fallout and thanks to the soft silky smooth formula, Too Faced always offer a fun palette to play with.

No7 Match Made Moisture Drench Lipstick.
Once again I totally admit I am not someone who has a signature lip colour. I tend to go something which is akin to my skin tone if I use a lip product at all. I’m sure I have long leftover issues from 90s/00s lip gloss.
That said, I am a fan of No7, they do great products and the fact this lipstick is moisturising for up to 8 hours got me thinking, you know what let’s try something new!
OK, so I haven’t stepped that far out of my comfort zone. After having a look through the colours I decided to go for Caramel Silk, which is a nude colour with just a hint of pink.
That said, I definitely have found a lipstick I will rebuy thanks to the longevity of both colour and moisture.

Summer Beauty at Boots.
I am amazed at the range of items Boots have to get you summer beauty ready. From glitter makeup to perfume and everything in between, you are bound to find something you fall in love with as well.
I have to admit that I am trying to become more aware of what I am buying. Admittedly I used to live in a state of mind of what I don’t know, doesn’t hurt me and while to a degree, that’s true. I need to step away from that and be more aware when it comes to what I am buying and consuming.
I want to say thanks to Boots for making it easy for me to understand if the items included in this post are cruelty-free. (They all are by the way).
No matter what you are trying to do this summer. Be it stepping out of your comfort zone, trying a new brand or like me think more about where your products are coming from. Check out Boots!

These all look great. I love a good primer, especially in the summer.
A powder with SPF looks great! I always use powder to stop the shine, and the summer is always more difficult to stay mattified!
It is absolutely fantastic – I would suggest it to anyone, to be honest, I’ve been really surprised by it.
I like the sound of the Banana Primer might give this a try.

I definitely would give the lip stick or the primer a go. They definitely seem like wins to me. I’m not a massive fan of Bare Minerals though. Every time I’ve tried their face powders they always burn my face.

I’m a huge fan of the nature look. Although I rarely use make up, I love bareMinerals foundation. I’m definitely going to check out the shadow pallet and the primer.

What a great range of products and I could see me using a lot of these. I’d start with the face primer, I’m almost out of mine and I’m looking for an alternative.

I love boots no. 7 products I’ve recently been using their line correcting serum and have to admit I can see a difference . Love their lipsticks too.

I am one of those women who have summer and winter colors in make-up. I really like the natural eye color shadows.

Yes! Definitely, they are made so the rows go really well with each other, the larger part is what you want to use the most of the lid, then use the smaller sections to highlight and blend!
I don’t have any primer at the moment and would normally just use a simple face cream but this banana primer certainly looks like the perfect one to use.
Beautiful beauty bundle. I always use Bare Minerals powder and their concealer. If you haven’t tried the concealer, I highly recommend it. I’ve never heard of the Banana primer though. It sounds really good. I shall be giving that a try. Thanks for the recommendations.

These are lovely products to try and use during summer. I know many people who are constantly using it because it’s good. Perfect remedy for summer skin issues I suppose.

I find that summer time comes with oily skin and if I use a sunblock it is even worse. Those powders seem like a great way to fight the oil and sweat of the warmer months.
Sunscreen can be so greasy can’t it? It’s a pain sometimes for sure!
I am up for anything that will make my skin glow and feel amazing. With summer here and sunburn a real possibility something like this will help keep my skin from drying out in all the sun. I will definitely try to find it.
