Trilogy Shampoo and Conditioner – Refresh and Shine: Review
I’ve become quite a fan of Trilogy, their cream cleanser is one of my favourites and a repeat purchase, as is their Everything Balm, so when I noticed that they have shampoo and conditioners in their extensive range, I knew I just had to try them.
Coming in at £12.50 each, Trilogy shampoo and conditioners will set you back a bit more than your everyday supermarket buy. However, they do, of course, offer a difference. They are full of natural ingredients like aloe vera and rosehip oil and completely free from nasties.
How do Trilogy shampoos work?
The shampoo works to cleanse and nourish your hair gently. It is of a gel-like consistency and actually leaves my hair squeaking when being washed out, which I can’t decide if I like or not – it’s a bit ‘odd’. It literally leaves your hair and scalp squeaky clean!
One of the things I always find when I try many shampoos free from nasties is I miss the froth. My brain knows it is only there because, in most cases, it has been made to be, but for some reason, I just want it to bring on the foam. To me, lather means clean hair.
Thankfully this shampoo does like to lather, at least on the second wash (the first you would be lucky), but I can make do with the amount it throws up on the second wash.
The conditioner has more of a creamy texture and borders on quite runny. I found the best way to apply was to rub into the lengths and then brush through before washing out.
Personally, for me, this wasn’t the best shampoo and conditioner combo. I can’t put my finger on why but it just didn’t seem to do as good a job as others I have tried. Though it did leave my hair feeling soft, it was slightly more flyaway than usual.

I haven’t tried these & it’s always good to read reviews, I like to try more natural products, but like you I miss the froth, find it difficult to distribute the product through
I haven’t heard of Trilogy before but I was interested in your liking of the froth! I know myself that the lack of surfactants make you think it isn’t working – amazing how conditioned (pardon the pun) that we have become! Just like in our food, hair/skin products that work/feel a different way take a lot of getting used to!
I’ve never heard of these before, so I haven’t tried them, but they sound good.
I love Trilogy body care products so will have to give this a go.Hopefully it will suit my hair type & I’ll get as good results as I do with their other products.

These sound great, I’ve been looking for a clarifying shampoo and this one sounds like it will do the trick!
I really love how this is for all hair types. It’s so hard to find a shampoo that covers everyone and their needs as opposed to searching for specific shampoo if you have oily scalp, dry scalp, etc.
