  6. Your ideas for helping to stay healthy in winter are the things we should be aware of, but so easily bypass or forget. Things can be so different in winter and it is all too easy to fall foul of mishaps. I find it is really important to get out, even when it’s cold. The fresh air and the day light do wonders.

  12. This time of year can be rough as wintertime brings us all indoors for extended periods of time. For me, wintertime also brings along pollen and other allergens that I’m allergic too outdoors. I live in TX and until we have a hard freeze then everything is alive and kickin. It isn’t unheard of being 70 degrees on Christmas day or freezing. You just never know. With a compromised immune system, the only thing that I can do is get my flu shot (check) and treat any symptoms. Rest is also important for me.

  13. Those are some great points to remember especially for those who have a weak immune system since the cold weather can be harsh on them. It’s better to prevent sickness than to heal from it.

  20. I am struggling with a cold as we speak, which I got on a plane. It’s such a nasty virus, so much more aggressive than usual. I am trying to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and also to take daily vitamins, hopefully this will be the last cold I get this season.

  21. As I am suffering from the flu right now, I am all about finding ways to stay healthy for the rest of the winter. I am definitely going to go get a flu shot when I get well.

  22. I especially love the “getting outdoors” tip. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean it’s best to stay indoors and away from the elements of being outdoors. We all need fresh air 🙂

  23. I tend to get more sick in the summer than winter. Probably because I go out more then and am exposed to more germs. I definitely think a good multivitamin helps to keep the sick away.

  24. You’ve reminded me to get my flu jab! I’ve made sure my husband had it done, the boys have it at school, but I keep forgetting about me…!
