Nava Hair Straighteners Review

Do you remember the kid at school whose hair always looked like they had been dragged through a hedge backwards no matter what they did?

That kid was me. My hair has a complete life of its own, if it wants to stick up in the air it jolly well will and it doesn’t care if it makes me look like a fool.

These days I have thankfully found out the wonders of straighteners and to a degree, I am able to keep it a bit more under control. Which is why when Nava after me one of their straighteners to try I jumped at the chance.

The Nava straighteners are pretty new to the UK market, so I shall forgive you if you haven’t heard of them before. They are, however, a well-established brand in the US and aren’t they beautiful.

The company have definitely taken time to think through the presentation of these but how do they stack up when it comes to use:

My first ‘oh yes’ moment with this straighteners was the temperature dial, as after all why put a high heat setting on, if you don’t need to use it? We all know the damage it can do.

Hopefully, you can see from the above picture as well, that the dial is accessible. (I’ve been stuck before with one you couldn’t quite reach making a great idea completely useless.)Plus right next to it is the on / off switch (for those who remember to use such things).

The plates on the straightener are 100% solid ceramic and are said to evenly distribute the heat across the surface of them. Meaning you hopefully don’t need to keep going over the area it seems to be missing.

They also use FAR Infrared Technology. Which is less damaging to the hair type of heat, leaving it healthier than your average straighteners.

Of course, having exciting specifications and features don’t always mean the item is worth it.

So how does it really work?

I’m actually really impressed with this straightener. It does work well and I found you don’t need to repeatedly go over areas, which is great.

It feels comfortable in your hands and doesn’t feel like it might fall out of your grasp (yeah I’m good at dropping things).

I am completely at ease using it as my everyday hair straightener, with the addition of a heat spray. As I feel it does both a good job and is a bit better for my hair in the long run.

I would recommend to a friend looking to buy themselves a new pair.

I did have a go at using it to make waves and while I haven’t completely mastered the technique yet, it definitely makes for a multi-use tool for those who can with its 360-degree swivel cord.
