TokyoTreat: Subscription Box
Yesterday I spoke about My Little Box which offers a great lifestyle subscription box, but what about those of you who want to taste a bit more of the world and perhaps love all things Japanese? Then TokyoTreat might be right up your street.
TokyoTreats offers three subscription plans the small plan which comes in at $14.99 (around £12), regular at $24.99 (around £20) and premium at $34.99 (around £28).
The small box contains 5-7 Full-size Japanese candies and snacks, regular 10-12 Full-size Japanese candies and snacks as well as 1 DIY candy kit, while the premium includes, 16-18 Full-size Japanese candies and snacks, DIY candy kit, 1 Drink as well as one 1 Special item.
Now I have to admit this is the October box, it didn’t arrive with me until November, when I broke a contact lens so I couldn’t see properly to blog, then I got ill, which was then followed by the Christmas madness, in which I lost this, I am such an awful blogger!
This is the premium box and had some Halloween chopsticks and sticker with it as the special item. I personally wasn’t overly impressed with them to be honest, but then I can’t use chopsticks, that said I have seen some cute little additions in other boxes though.
For the drink, there was a little carton of Tropicana Season’s Best – Mix Fruit Juice, this was actually really nice and I would definitely buy it myself if I saw it on the shelves in the UK.
For the DIY kit it was Nyoki Nyoki Cororon DIY, thankfully this was an easy one, for which you just need to add water and the candy turns into little worm like candies, it’s really odd but so fun!
When it came to snacks, there was a whole host of different items included, such as a pipe full of sugar coated candies, a mixed soda and berry flavoured soft candy bar, a wasabi flavoured snack, salty lemonade gummies, soybean jerky and purple sweet potato and sweet chestnut chocolate. Just to name a few.
I cannot finish the post without mentioning my favourite snacks though and they were:
Koala’s March Halloween Edition
I can’t think of the chocolate snack name this reminds me of, but it took me right back to my childhood, with the crunchy biscuit outside and chocolate inside it was my favourite snack of the box.
Kinoko No Yama – Chestnut Chocolate Autumn Edition
These biscuits are a mix of chocolate and chestnut flavour and oddly taste really nice. This was the autumn edition of these treats and I would definitely be interested to see what different seasons offer.
Uncle Pierre’s Strawberry Cream Roll Cake
Hands up this is delicious, it is the perfect pudding idea; with its light flavouring and fluffy texture, I would definitely like another.
So that’s a little look in one of TokyoTreat’s boxes, if you want to find out more please do head over to their website, where you can also subscribe.
What do you think of the sound of TokyoTreat is it a box you would like to try?
