Our teeth are important, yet not all of us look after them as well as we should. I recently changed from using a manual toothbrush to an electric one and it has made such a difference, one which for years I told everyone just wasn't possible. You see in my teens I had tried an electric toothbrush and it didn't help at all. However, on trying again I found that it actually makes a huge difference and last time I visited the hygienist my session went from hours with the water scaler, to a few minutes with a hand scaler.
Did you know that most adults in the UK suffer from gum disease at some point in their life, at the early stages you are likely to experience bleeding gums and bad breath, this early stage of gum disease is known as gingivitis.
If gingivitis isn't treated effectively it can lead to periodontitis, this effects the tissue which helps support the teeth and can, in the end, lead to bone loss, which in turn can lead to the loss of teeth.
Gum disease is caused by a build-up of plaque on the teeth, so of course, making sure you are in a good routine with your oral care can make a huge difference and Oral B are perhaps the leaders of oral care technology, with their Oral B Pro 2000 Toothbrush being a great entry level toothbrush, if you want to know more about it you can read a review of the Oral B Pro 2000 Toothbrush here.
