Top Tips for Healthy Skin

If there is one thing I have been ever searching for it has to be healthy skin.

I was pre-teen when I first started getting spots. I remember all through school being very embarrassed about the condition of my skin and the fact people would point it out.

Ever since I have been very keen on trying to keep my skin as healthy as possible.

So I have collected up some of my top tips for healthy skin. To hopefully, help you feel like your skin is pampered as best it can be.

Sun Cream Matters

You might be thinking but we live in the UK. We are lucky if we see the sun at all!

However, forget that thinking and flip it upside down.

No matter how brightly the sun shines. We should all be looking to wear a full spectrum sunscreen of at least factor 15 each day.

Treat Your Skin Kindly

At the heart of everything, you want to treat your skin well.

Don't use harsh chemicals or soaps. Look to choose cleansers that suit your skin.

Companies such as Bioderma, offer a range of products for all skin types.

However, being kind to your skin is more than just washing it, be gentle when you save, choose a good moisturiser that offers your skin what it needs. And you will likely see a huge difference in your skins look.

Clean your Makeup Brushes

I think we are all guilty of leaving our make up brushes longer than we should. When it comes to cleaning.

However, a dirty brush collects bacteria and dirt, which causes breakouts.

So get out that cleaner and give them a wash. Anything used to apply liquids at least once a week and powders once a fortnight.

Sanitise your Mobile

So you probably don't want to know how many germs are lurking around on your mobile.

After al,l we share them, take them everywhere with us (and yes that's going to include a bathroom or two I bet) and then you put it on your face while you chat!

So make sure you wipe your phone down and clean it up!

Get Enough Sleep

It's not called beauty sleep for no reason.

Your body can repair itself better once you are asleep. So make sure you make yourself a calming environment where you can sleep as best as you can.

Allowing your body its best chance to recover and look its best.

Start Moisturising Early

OK, when you're young you don't want to think about anti-ageing products and you don't need to!

There are moisturisers out there to suit all ages, you just need to find the one that suits your skin age.

Making sure you start early, will not only get you into a good routine but help keep your skin looking younger for longer.

Now, this isn't a full list, of course, drinking water, watching your diet, managing stress amongst other things can all help your skin health too.

However, I have tried to put together at least a few things which come together to be some top tips for healthy skin.

    I have a pretty good skin care routine but I really need to improve when it comes to cleaning my brushes. Thanks for the reminder. I need to clean them ASAP.

    I have found that since turning vegan at the start of the year that my skin has become much happier in general. It used to be very dry but now I don’t feel the need to slather on moisturiser all the time!

    Good points here. I stick to a simple skin routine but I found my skin cleared up mostly by itself as I grew up, apart from when I’m PMSing haha! x

    I have a great skin cleaning program and always use sun screen. Something I can do more often is cleaning the cellphone and keeping it clean.

    Cleaning our cellphones is sooo important. We’re on them all day and we don’t realize all the bacteria lurking there!

    Those are all excellent reminders, especially as I live in Florida and the sun shines so strong… my favorite thing to do is to only purchase skin moisturizers that include an SPF20. That way, I feel protected, even when I forget to apply when leaving home!

    You’re right about phones – I think we often forget that! They come everywhere with us and it doesn’t take long to make sure they’re clean.

    Love this! People start worrying about skin health waayyy later in life than they should, and there is so much you can do now – when you’re young, to keep your skin looking that way! I love the point about treating your skin kindly. There are so many products that are extremely damaging, and people just don’t care – keeping ingredients in mind is so vital!

    I had spots occasionally growing up. I never understood why people found it necessary to point them out. I knew they were there. I didn’t need to be reminded. 🙂

    Bioderma makes the best micellar water. I use that to cleanse my face each night before moisturizing. I am too lazy to wash my face at night, so the micellar water is the perfect solution…in a solution. 🙂

    I also drink a bunch of water to stay hydrated. I also find that it helps me keep my skin in its best shape (in addition to all of the great tips you listed above).

      I had a friend who started a letter years later when we got back in touch with have you got rid of the spots yet.. Like nope still here 20ish years later.. Sorry my skin offends you I’m not that fond of it myself LOL.

      There micellar water is great isn’t it – I think they really are the one people should try if they are looking to bring one into their routine.

    Wow, love your post. I think I need to pay more attention with some of your points, sanitise your mobile, clean your makeup brushes and sleep early… My face is not exactly moon surface but it is in a bad conditions, def. need to take care of myself a lot more.       You should be able to find one which works for you – I have very oily skin as well, its just a matter of trying and playing around till you get the one which works for you.

    I know I haven’t been nearly as careful and faithful in a skin care routine as I should have for all these years! I’m 60 now and have all the aging skin issues to deal with. I typically use Avon products, and have for decades – just not as consistently as I should.

    Great tips. I did not start early and I didn’t take my mother’s advice on taking care of my skin when I was young. However, now in my 40’s I’m getting better. I recently started taking a liquid collagen that has make a big difference.

    Sunscreen… sigh…if only I was more careful back then I wouldn’t have age spots today. I am now 43, I have only started using sunblock about 3 years ago but I already have the age spots. I dunno how to have them removed.
