I hate money it is the bane of my life and I am unable to relax when I think about it; will we have enough to cover the bills, could we perhaps manage to rent a DVD this weekend, what if something breaks down. All the normal, everyday issues.
However there are certain times in our lives when stress can really become an issue, not just because of the money involved in the situation but for other reasons as well and while it's easy in the day to call for advice, the nights can be hard. As once its dark the thoughts come and dance through our minds, so I thought I would share a couple of ways that might help you cope at hard times be it from worry or stress.
1. Square Breathing
I don't do meditations or breathing exercises well, however I've found square breathing is something I can do and does help when an anxiety attack hits. I've always taken to counting for some reason when I am feeling in such a way and so this is the perfect distraction. It works by counting to 4 as quickly or slowly as suits you while breathing, so breathe in for 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4, hold for 4 and then repeat the four steps.
2. Worry Time
Worrying all time does you no good, so if you feel those worries creeping in while you are doing other things take a look at the clock, choose a time you can spend some time ‘worrying' and thinking over the situation for ways to help; note down that time and then get on with your jobs until worry time arrives.
Of course the main issue when it comes to worrying about things you can control, is making sure you get help and there are many organisations out there that can help you get on the right path.
For instance if you are going through a divorce or separation, take a walk through this infographic and see if it can help you.
