I love all the gift sets companies come out with at Christmas – I totally fall into the “what an amazing bargain they can be” category of shopper and when it comes to your favourite brand or one you like to treat yourself to, most will have made some sort of special gift set to tempt you with.
As a brand I have long been drawn to Dove not only do I find their products work but I like the ethics they seem to have in making women try and find the beauty within themselves. We seem to often be over powered by photo-shopped, completely unobtainable by most images of flawless skin and perfect features and Dove are taking a stand against that with both their Self-Esteem Project and Campaign for Real Beauty. So it was a pleasure to review one of their Christmas Gift Sets.
The first thing I noticed about the sets from Dove this year was the names many of them have, names that are up-lifting such as Happiness, Real Women, Beautiful You and the one I was sent Be You to name a few – all of which are wrapped up in a box containing a self-esteem boosting quote.
The Be You gift set includes:
Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter Hand Cream (75ml)
Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter Body Wash (250ml)
Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter Lotion (250ml)
Dove Wash Bag
The Dove Purely Pampering items if brought separately come in at around £10 – and the set has an RRP of £12, so you are paying just over £2 for a nice wash bag which of course always come in useful for just storing make up in at home even if you aren't going away.
I haven't myself used the Purely Pampering range from Dove before so it was really nice to get to try it and I have to admit I have been impressed the range offers a soft clean, scent throughout, with each item complementing the next. Together they offer a moisturising and hydrating experience that from start helps you feel both clean and you skin safely protected behind that moisture barrier. In fact I am really tempted to buy all of them again.
As for the gift set well I'm thinking I might buy it for some people this Christmas (and it just so happens to be in Boots 3 for 2 as well).
What sort of gift sets do you like at Christmas, would Dove be on your list?
