When I was asked if I would like to try some chocolate from award winning chocolatiers such as Barry Colenso, Pierre Ledent and Claire Hicklin all ideas of ‘diets' went out my head and I of course jumped at the chance.
Cocoa Boutique is a newly launched chocolate tasting service, for £34.95 (£9.95 for a limited time if you use this link: http://www.cocoaboutique.com/blog) you will receive 300g (up to 15 different chocolates) through your letterbox – you can then choose how often you wish to receive boxes with each one coming in at £19.95 including postage and packaging or take the hard decision to never receive a box again. Each chocolate has been tested and approved by experience chocolatiers meaning you know you will be receiving the best of the best.
I was amazed when the box popped through my letter, the chocolates beautifully presented in the white box, the inside tissue paper, closed with a sticker and leaflets included telling you all about the chocolates, the makers and what to expect from the service.
I'm picky when it comes to chocolate – I don't do dark so I roped my parents into helping me test the chocolate (not that it took much they were strangely very excited about it.)
Don't they look amazing?
Our Highlights include (we marked them all 10/10):
Milk Chocolate Buttons
Cocoa Dusted Dark Chocolate Salted Caramels
Dark Chocolate Coffee Bean
Pink Champagne Truffle
I love leaflet that comes with the chocolates not only does it tell you in detail what each chocolate it, it also goes into if they were made by one of the named chocolatiers, if they contain a dash or lashings of alcohol, if they are vegetarian, a favourite or a hidden gem (among other things). You get an insight into the chocolatiers, and they even simplify that chocolate lingo!
We found for us there was something for us all even fussy Ash found some he really enjoyed, while my parents were delighted by the range of dark chocolate.
It allowed us to stay safe with the buttons and honeycomb or try something really different like the whole coffee beans covered in dark chocolate which my parents adored.
I have to admit I find the ‘normal' price of the first box completely out of my price range I just couldn't thing of spending £34.95 on a box of chocolate but for the offer price, and then the recurring £19.95 which could be taken bi-monthly I am definitely sorely tempted. And if I was to receive this box as a gift well I would definitely be over the moon.
Still not convinced Cocoa Boutique is for you? Well every month they are after 25 tasters who will receive their box for free in return for their opinions (all you need to do is mark the chocolates out of 10!)
