With the snow all around us, I thought now was a great time to share this post from the lovely Mel for Melanie's Fab Finds, check out some boots she has been loving of late:
I love boots!!! Okay, let me rephrase that I love shoes in general. No, I am not an Imelda Marcos wannabe but then if I was to have 1220 pairs of shoes in my house I doubt there would be room for much more including the furniture and even the children and their toys. Hi, I'm Melanie from Melanie's Fab Finds and I am writing today's guest post for the lovely Sarah who is taking a well-earned break.
Just a little about me before I share some fabulous boot wishlist with you guys, I am also a blogger, a mummy of 3 little monkeys and 2 fur babies (bunnies). I love to cook, eat and power walk and I write about all sorts of topics from fashion to beauty to some great restaurants in London. I use my natural medical knowledge when I feature recipes to help readers understand more about food and how certain foods can be greatly beneficial to health.
Now the weather has really taken a turn for the worse and each morning I am grateful I bought some boots last year. The only problem there is that one set is looking rather worse for wear so naturally I need to replace it asap.
My boot of choice is something that is stylish yet practical and warm. I'm not running up the road to drop the kiddies off in 9 inch heeled boots. I'd fall flat on my face in seconds plus I don't tend to deal with heights very well.
With that in mind, I decided to pop over to one of my favourite go to's Love the Sales. They have such a large selection I am always spoilt for choice and even better everything is on sale. Now I do shop around. If I find something I like I will always do an internet search in case I can find it for less – I'm sure you all do too.
I did rather like the Richmond Biker Boots (Kirk Geiger London).
Not only do these brown boots not have a breakneck heel they are stylish with a gorgeous suede outer and comfy with a sheepskin lining. Just the thing to keep feet cosy and warm especially now the temperature has dropped. These look great with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans and oversized jumper, let's face it your not likely to leave the house without one when it's freezing cold in the morning.
I also thought the Women's Cedrick Boots look really lovely too.
Available in black or brown. I quite liked both but preferred the black. Now you will have noticed these are UGG boots but not the classic “ugly” ones, they look trendy and as they are UGG boots are guaranteed to be really comfortable too. The boots have been fitted with an UGGpure insole and a Treadlite outsole; a light and flexible alternative to the classic sole designed by UGG. These can be worn in two different ways. You can wear the shaft up to allow for colder days as shown above. Alternatively, you can fold the shaft down to expose the soft sheepskin for a different look on warmer days.
Next up another pair of UGG boots this time from Ugg Australia. The Women's Wilcox Biker Boots in stout brown give a trendy look to any outfit.
The mat brown leather looks works well with the boots design as do the chunky antique brass toned metal buckles and the foot-friendly low heel. The wrap around straps are chunky but not too chunky to stop it looking feminine. This can be worn with leggings, jeans, skirts and dresses making then that bit more flexible than the rest featured.
Sometimes you need a bit more coverage especially when the weather is midway through Winter. That chill on the legs isn't pleasant and extra heat from long boots is always appreciated. Boots such as the Tenant Crepe Sole Knee High Boot are perfect coming up to the knee and with a sophisticated and sleek look.
The chunky block heel isn't too high to handle and these with leggings or skinny jeans make a great looking stylish combination.
Another brown boot but this time with a shine. The Women's Leather Buckle Boots come with a mock side buckle fastening with thin straps. The sole is man-made and offers a good grip, great when the pavements get icy.
Of course, reducing this down to one pair for me is going to pose as a nightmare so the likelihood is that I'm going to be picking a couple, ha any excuse!
I do hope you all liked my choice of boots. Do you need new boots for the Winter?
