A Brand New Smile

A Brand New Smile

How do you feel about your smile? Is it something you are happy with? I personally look at mine and think urgh. Through my teens, I went through years of having to wear braces, which helped both realign my jaws and straighten my teeth. Though was more catered to making sure my teeth were healthy and usable than how they looked. However, they seem to have moved back in places, but they do their job at least.

Of course these days it is easier than ever to have your smile worked on, places like Saving Faces are helping people daily to get the smile they desire. What's more, these days, braces aren't so in your face. Gone are the days of coloured elastics to try and make your train tracks look “cool” and more are the days of them being discrete and blending in.

While braces are perhaps the most commonly thought of cosmetic dentistry it isn't the only option. From tooth whitening to implants there are so many choices that may suit your wants, needs and budget.

One technique which is perhaps becoming more common again, of late, is veneers. But what exactly are they? Made from porcelain, veneers can help improve both the strength and look of your teeth. A small layer of porcelain is attached to your teeth, which helps hide any damage or marks. What's more places like veneers Liverpool, make sure they look exactly the same shape and size your original teeth meaning no one will know the difference, great hey!

I think the most important thing though when it comes to your smile, is to try and feel comfortable with the teeth you have (others probably don't notice the issues you do) and make sure you research before planning to make any changes. Check for the qualifications and licenses (if necessary) of the professionals you are speaking to and if possible talk to people who have used their service before.

How do you feel about your smile, is it something you are completely comfortable with?

I’ve always heard about veneers, but I never actually knew how they did it. I didn’t realize it was just a thin layer like that.

  2. Olivia Jade

I’ve been working on brightening my smile lately and working my way through a variety of different products. I had braces too and they made a huge difference to my life! X

  3. Marriah Tarango

My mom actually had braces and she just got veneers. They look great!

Great post. You smile is the first thing that people see when they meet you. So, it is a good thing to improve upon if you can. Still, love the smile you have, it is an energy as well.

  5. tara pittman

A good smile does make one happy. At my sons orthodontist there are a lot of adults getting braces.

  6. Amber Myers

I wish I could afford veneers. I’d go for them! I might look into them down the line and see about a payment plan.

  7. Theresa

My dentist showed me a demonstration on how veneers work and I was quite impressed. I may go that route if I ever want to upgrade my smile.

  8. Kayla

Your smile is beautiful. I’ve heard about them, but never read a real review till now.

  9. Audrey

Sounds like veneers is a good alternative to braces. I’ll keep these in mind, should anyone in my family needs them.

  10. Peter

I’ve heard about veneers but have never pursued the option. I may still in the future

  11. Danielle Smith

A person’s smile is one of the first things I notice on a person. I learned something new about veneers!

  12. Joyce Brewer

I know most celebs get veneers as soon as they get to Hollywood!
    They look great.

  13. Toni | Boulder Locavore

That sounds like a great way to improve your teeth! A confident smile is really important!!

  14. Annemarie LeBlanc

My son would probably want to have them. He works with the hotel industry and you know how important a nice smile is when you speak with customers. I am asking our orthodontist about this.

  15. Emma Riley

Wow! This is such a great idea to be more confident. I don’t have a perfect shape of teeth and my dentist told that she can do something about it and I told her go and she did this kind of method. Now, because of what she did I am more confident on smiling to others.

I hate my smile – its taken a very long time for me to feel comfortable smiling in photos because my bottom teeth are all crooked and discoloured. I’ve thought about getting braces but they’re so expensive.

  19. Lynda (Sandy Gram)

I’d love to get veneers, but I’ve heard they’re extremely expensive. Maybe I’ll look into it and find out for sure.

  20. Heather

I have to admit, a smile is the first thing I look at when I meet someone. It says so much about them.

  21. Ada

My grandma got veneers done and they look absolutely amazing on her! It’s definitely a new smile!

  22. Rachel

I have a huge phobia of false teeth so I am all for doing whatever it takes to ensure I keep my own teeth for as long as I possibly can x

  23. Nadj

What a coincidence! I just came home from the dentist. LOL I agree with your tip – what’s important is to be comfortable to have a great smile!

  24. What Corinne Did

Never had braces nor veeners. I am quite comfortable with my smile yes. I mean some days more than others!

  25. Kara

Kian gets his braces off soon and we would definitely consider veneers if they have marked his teeth

  26. Echo

I wish I loved my smile, but my mouth has been nothing but hell for me.

  27. Bella at Dear Mummy Blog

My mummy would love to get veneers to improve the look of her teeth. First she needs to sort out whitening!

  28. Laurie

There are definitely moments that I would love to get cosmetic dentistry done. My lower teeth could take on a surfer. They definitely have a “wave” shape. One of these days, I will get myself into the dentist to see what can be done. I just need to get some “dentist courage”.

  29. Shannon Gurnee

I know that I definitely try to take care of my smile and want to keep it pretty. As much as I’ve taken care of my teeth, my bottom teeth have definitely shifted. Boo!

  30. Jenni

I would love veneers! I have some enamel erosion on my two front teeth and really don’t like it

  31. Apostolia Delikosta

You can understand so much about a person just from their smile! So ye… A smile is really important! I had braces when I was younger, but I don’t really think that we should focus on how our teeth look… Okay, you need to keep them healthy of course, but we should focus on being positive and laugh our hearts out!

Veneers sounds like a great alternative to braces. It’s good that they can blend in so are not noticeable. I was lucky never to need braces although my brother did and it wasn’t nice.

  33. Sally Akins

I should have had braces as a teenager but I was scared so my Mom didn’t make me. I really wish she had now, as my teeth are quite crooked and I’m very selfconscious of them. If ever I win the lottery, I’d definitely consider cosmetic dentistry.

  34. Anosa

I must say my smile is my best feature and don’t know what I would do without it so it’s nice to see places that can help.

  35. Sayanti | bingeonbasics.com

I hope one day my smile gets as beautiful as yours. I am trying so much to get my teeth fixed. Wish me luck 🙂

  36. Kusum

As they say, it is the best accessory anyone could really wear.

  37. Emma C

I agree a confident smile is important!

  38. Charli Bruce

I’m actually looking into getting veneers. I just have to have some mouth surgery done from a problem I’ve had since I was kid and then will be getting them done. I think it just brings a whole other level of confidence to you by having a great smile x

  39. Wanda Lopez

A good smile makes all the difference in the world. I had braces as a teenager and now both my girls are going through them. Having a smile you love boosts your self-esteem big time. It’s priceless!

  40. Jeanette Leighton

I don’t mind my teeth they are ok for a 39 year old but my dentist says I’m loosing a lot of bone which isn’t good

  41. Sofia Larionova

I wear braces and they look great.
