I like to be creative every now and then so when NPW asked me to review something from their website T-shirt Graffiti pens sounded too good to miss out on. They sell two types one ‘normal’ colours and the other Neon. I received the Neon set full of bright funky colours.
I tried at first to mess around on a pair of pumps which although up close up it looks good the colour of the pumps (black) were against me when it came to anything else so a rethink later and here we are with my artist efforts on plain white t-shirt to best show of the effect. There are 8 colours in the pack each one showing up brilliantly on white:
Hopefully that will give you an idea of them, they are best left to dry and develop over night after use for the best effect when it comes the colouring of them the yellow in particular becomes much bolder after some time. The markers are all permanent fabric pens that are completely waterproof after 24 hours or if needed quicker a quick iron over.
The tips of the pens are quite thick, but stay in shape well – the above picture was taken after I had finished messing around and as you can see it’s still well shaped with no stray fibres. So after I spent a long time drawing flowers, hearts, all the normal doodle bits you do I decided to show you the not so colourful part of my doodles – this may seem strange but it’s probably the most detailed one I did, and it helps give an idea of how much detail you can get from these pens.
I’m sure someone would have a brilliant time analysing this particular doodle of mine in fact if you find me doodling this is the sort of thing I am most likely to be doing (find something new out about me all the time

). Anyway back onto the subject matter in hand obviously I drew this by hand so each square/rectangle is a random size but to give you an idea they are all around an inch give or take. The hard tips make it slightly easier to get down and dirty with detailing than a softer tip would, but in turn makes block colouring slightly harder but when it comes to drawing on fabric I find this a good thing to much movement on top of the fact fabric which is often stretchy could equal a bit of a mess – so I think they are just right.
When it comes to lasting I honestly can’t say how long and how much you will get from these pens all I can say is after the good grilling I’ve given them they are still going strong with even the most used black pen showing no sign of stopping any time soon.
This brilliant UV Neon T-shirt Graffiti Pack is available now from
NPW for £5.95.
What will you be using your pack to draw?
*Pens received free of charge for my consideration, this however does not effect my opinion on them which is as always 100% honest. ** I apologise for my not so great drawing skill.. They are mine and mine alone, and sadly it’s not where my talents lie.
