Do you ever feel like you want to do something different with your jewellery? To know you are creating something unique to you? Well maybe Modjool is just what you have been looking for, this contemporary modular jewellery brand is the brainchild of Jackie Selcraig, the creator of Gracie J an entirely different of jewellery design that is also well worth a look.
Jackie has been designing jewellery since 2006 when she started with Gracie J, 2011 brought the feeling of a need for change, to work with more colour and so was spent researching, designing, sourcing raw materials and finding a graphic designer to work with to help her create a brand identity. Modjool was brought to trade fairs at the beginning of this year then onto the catwalk via The Jewellery Show at Spring Fair, with the web launch happening in June. Still a work in progress I have a feeling Modjool will become the collectable jewellery of the future, with its clean, fresh look it definitely has something different to offer. Jackie is 49 (going on 26) and lives in the Scottish Borders in the middle of nowhere with her husband, 2 dogs and a cat; she has a studio at home, loves being with her dogs, running (or plodding as she says) and is a typical scatty creative Gemini who gets bored very easily. At the moment Modjool contains 3 ranges: Click
Containing a Bracelet (S 20.5cm M 21.5cm L 22.5cm) and Choker (16″ or 18″) this range comes in 12 different colours and the choice of having a bolt on detail, made with PVC and Aluminium and of course as with all of the Modjools range they are made in the UK. Fastening magnetically, you can also join them together, meaning you could mix and match two colours of bracelet and make a two toned choker. Build
The build range contains a necklace (16″ or 18″), ring (L/M1/2/O1/2) and 6 colour choices and is made from silver with the stable pieces from ceramic, extra build packs can be bought separately meaning you can mix and match colours and build a necklace or ring that is perfect for you.
The shape range contains a choker (12 colours/16″ or 18″), earrings and ring (L/P/R) with the shapes to choose from being a square, triangle or circle. Each of the shapes is silver hallmarked and can be bought separately for use on the choker.
I have to say I love them all, each range has something different to bring to the table and I could see myself having to one of each colour / shape so I change along with my mood, and just bring that little bit of individuality to my jewellery.
