Here we are Wednesday again; they seem to be rolling around all too quickly though I do love my Wednesday fix of guest posters so I can’t complain too much
.
I’m going to leave the introductions this week as Jill does a much better job than I could – I hope you become as big of a fan of her work as I am, enjoy.
Hi! I’m Jill from
Favor the Brave. I blog from the wilds of Oklahoma, USA about style, DIY, and a crafty life. I also own my own jewelry business,
Favoring Brave, and teaching acting, voice, and musical theater! It’s a wonderfully creative existence and it is so fantastic to get to do what I love full time.
I want to just briefly share with you the story of my blog’s name, which later morphed into the name of my business. I’ve always loved musicals and when I was naming my blog Aida and the song “Fortune Favors the Brave”stuck in my head. I liked the sentiment, and filled in the blank on the sign up sheet without giving it much more thought.
Fast forward a year or so and I realize that my blog title isn’t just a name, but a call to action. To make a long story short, I quit the job that made me so miserable, recommitted myself to an artistic life, and made the conscious decision to continue doing the brave thing. The scary thing that is so worthwhile. So that’s what I’m about. What would you do if you were feeling brave?
On a completely different note, my heart sang when the chilly time came to dig out the long favored brown cashmere sweater. So soft I want to live in it, so bargain-ful I want to go up to random people on the street and brag about the wonderful deal. Everything I am wearing was thrifted, and I am not ashamed! Except my earrings -
I made those.
peace&love,
Jill
