Welcome to guest post Wednesday I am thrilled to bring you the lovely Lisa from Lisahh-Jayne this week yet another fabulous beauty blogger. A 21 year old student studying Media and Communications at De Montford University, her blog contains both the writen word and videos an outlet for her love of beauty.
Make sure you pop over and check her out once you have given this post a read, and make sure you are the first to read about all her great beauty finds.
If someone told me a year ago that I’d be using oil daily as part of my beauty regime, I’d think they were mad. The idea of putting oil on my skin or in my hair just freaked me out, I didn’t understand how I could benefit from it. Surely it would just make my slightly oily skin worse, or make my hair feel greasy right? I’d read blog posts from other bloggers raving about oil, and how it helped their skin and their hair, and I just couldn’t believe it.
One day I decided to bite the bullet and see what all the fuss was about. The first ever oil type product I tried was v05′s miracle concentrate. I’d heard really good things about it and it retailed around the £5 mark so I thought at least I wouldn’t have wasted too much money if I didn’t get on with it. I used it in wet hair before I dried it and styled it, and honestly the transformation in my hair was amazing. My hair went from its usual dry, brittle, dull self to super soft, shiny and smooth. It was like my hair had a whole new lease of life, I couldn’t believe it that oil could have that effect on my hair. After finding my love for v05 miracle concentrate I wanted to try out Moroccainoil as I’d heard such good things about it. So a couple of months ago I bought myself a bottle, and even though it has a rather big price tag, it is worth the money. I just use it in the same way was I do the v05 one and I tend to alternate which one I use.
Since then I’ve been in love with oil, I can’t get enough of the stuff. One of my favourite oil products is The Body Shop’s vitamin E facial oil. It’s perfect for dry skin and vitamin E is always something that has worked wonders for my skin. All I do is use it at the end of my evening skin care routine and leave it on my face as an intensive overnight treatment, and when I wake up in the morning my skin is soft and feels hydrated. Something I use at the beginning of my evening skin care routine is the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil to take off my make-up. It’s the best product I’ve used for removing my make up, but it can make your skin feel slightly greasy after rinsing off so I always use another cleanser after.
For my body I used Avon’s Satin Sheer Dual Replenishing Body Oil. What I like about this is that it comes in a spray bottle, making it really easy for application. I tend to use this on my limbs when I get out of the shower, or just before I go to bed. It absorbs into the skin quickly so doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or sticky which some oils can do. After using this it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated.
So in the space of a year I’ve gone from someone who wouldn’t touch the stuff, to being an addict. Oil has really helped out my skin and my hair, and I wish I had known it would do these things a long time ago!
What do you think about using oil? What oil products do you use?

Huhn, I’ve never really used oil for anything except for baby oil for make-up removal. I’m really interested in using it for your hair. I get REALLy dry hair in the winter. It’s really fine and light. I may have to look into something like this. This is why I love blogs, someone else can try it first and tell you it works! Thank you.
I was exactly like you a month ago – I wouldn’t touch oils even if you paid me. However recently I switched to using an oil product for my nightly moisturiser and it’s worked miracles on my skin! As my hair is getting dry, I’m thinking of finding a good oil product to keep it in line (after reading this I think I’ll try the Moroccan Oil treatment). Thank you for the wonderful informative post!
I use Bio Oil for dry skin patches. It’s nice as it’s odourless. I’d like to use more oils in my skincare and haircare routines. Thanks for the reviews.
Hi,a few questions for you. Do you think the morrocanoil would be suitable for fine, soft prone to greasy hair? When you use the oil overnight do you find it gets on pillows and hair etc? Thank you. Rose http://www.milkymoles.blogspot.com
I love the morroccan oil.
I’m a new follower from the hump day hop. Hope you can stop by mamasmusingsblog.blogspot.com

I love blogs for the same reasons I have to admit, I always trust bloggers a lot more as well – less of a vested interest in things I guess

I feel like you were, scared to try the oil, but you’ve made me curious… I have to admit.
I’ll pop the question over to Lisa and see if she can help with the answer as I have to admit I’m not sure
