French’s French Fried Onions: Review

Frenchs French Fried OnionsMy Mum and Dad have long raved about having a type of dried crispy onion on top there Macaroni Cheese while over in Switzerland and how delicious it was, so when I was offered a tub of French’s French Fried Onions to try I knew just what to try them with.

The recipe we used was a simple one:

Macaroni Cheese

Serves 2 / 3 (depending on appetite)

120g Macaroni (Approx)

For the Cheese Sauce:
40g Plain Flour
50g Butter
3/4pt Milk
2 Small Shallots Finally Chopped.
175g Extra Mature Cheddar Cheese (reserve some of the cheese for sprinkling on the top and then pop back into the oven or under grill till it is brown and bubbling).

Variations –
4 Rashers of chopped grilled bacon
Chopped cooked mushroom

Sprinkle with French’s French Friend Onions when Served.

Simple but effective this recipe really makes a delicious Macaroni Cheese and the French’s French Fried Onions just offer that special finishing touch to it, adding a little zest, crunch and texture to the meal.

If you’re not one for a Macaroni cheese but fancy trying them out anyway they also go wonderfully as a topping to salad or added onto burgers. In fact you could really add them to anything you heart desires as they really make a scrumptious addition, and they really are rather moreish.

If you fancy trying some of French’s French Fried Onions they are on sale now at Sainsbury’s nationwide with an RRP of £1.79 for 79g.

What do you think of French’s French Fried Onions, would you like to give them a try?
