The new box on the block and it’s all to do with another of my loves FOOD.
FlavrBox launched in November of 2011 with 16 producers and a combined total of more than 200 products it gained 50 customers in its first day alone, and with aims of 400 producers selling over 4000 products by the end of 2012 this really is a well thought out plan. The concept launched by a group of friends and based in Bristol is dedicated to bring you the best in British produce in essence it’s an online Farmers Market that is available nationwide.
So where does the box part come in?
Starting at £15 (including postage and packing) a month for buying a year upfront you can order The Tasting Box (other options are a 6 month upfront payment or £20 per month on a rolling contact of which you can cancel at any time).
Every month on the 3rd week The Tasting Box is dispatched inside you will find 5 or 6 products that are available on the market place many of these products are award winning having won the Great Taste Awards or Taste of the West Awards as examples. Of course to some extent you are putting your trust into the pickers and packers at Flavrbox to bring you a box full of delights you will love, but with their obvious passion for all things edible you are definitely in safest of hands.
What happens if you have dietary requirements?
It depends on what they are but it is possible they may be able to substitute items for you – all you need to do is get in touch and ask.
What if you don’t like it?
FlavrBox offer to refund you completely if you are unhappy in general with your box – should a certain product not be to your satisfaction then let them know and they will replace it.
To be honest although I haven’t tried it I can’t find anything I don’t like about the concept and I think I really will have to try one of these out soon when I have the spare pennies. I shall be sure to report back on what I receive as well. (Oh and just on a side note the website is so simple to use.)
Have you given FlavrBox a try? What do you think of it?
