Clean your Kitchen the Method Way.

Cleaning is one of those chores we all have to do sadly – I’m sure there are some out there who love it but for most of us it’s just grin and bear it so anything that can make life just a little easier when it comes to this task is high on my lists of must haves.

Method is a brand I have come across before I love their hand wash which is often found in my bathroom, so when I was contacted by them to give there cleaning products a try I jumped at the chance.

Method believe in natural products – entranced by shiny objects like clean dinner plates and work surfaces, they believe in making products that are safe for every surface including the earth.

They kindly sent me 4 products from the range, which my Mum and I split between us.

My Mum took on the tasks of:
Method daily kitchen cleaner – Clementine
Non-toxic daily kitchen cleaner – Clementine. – RRP £3.06 for 828ml

My Mum had one main love when it came to all the method cleaners and I have to admit I whole heartedly agree with her on this point, the awful gagging and coughing you often are subjected to when you are using cleaners isn’t present in any of these cleaners, instead you are confronted with a fresh, true to the name scent which is so refreshing to come across.

My Mum used the kitchen cleaner all around the kitchen from the stainless steel sink, to the work surfaces, the hob, doors and floor, each one came up looking bright and sparkling and was left with a light fresh fragrance. The cleaner definitely does what it claims to do and leaves things not only clean and fresh but sparkling.Method Non-toxic daily shower cleaner - ylang-ylang
Non-toxic daily shower cleaner – ylang-ylang – RRP £3.06 for 828ml

As I don’t yet have a shower I put her in charge of this one as well. She found it was an easy way to keep the shower clean, it also worked well on the basin and bath leaving behind again a sparkling finish with a light fresh scent.

I ran away with the 2 others:
Method Non-toxic multi-surface cleaner - french lavender
Non-toxic multi-surface cleaner – french lavender – RRP £3.06 for 828ml

Lavender is the one fragrance I love to have around my home; I think it goes back to my childhood when there was lavender in the garden so it reminds me in the back of mind of good times. So this had to be one for me. I’ve used it non-stop since I’ve had it in my home, like my Mum I’ve really found it leaves my sink, worktop and hob sparkling clean and well you can’t put a foot wrong with lavender around me.
Non-toxic bathroom cleaner - eucalyptus mint Method
Non-toxic bathroom cleaner – eucalyptus mint – RRP £3.06 for 828ml

I think this has to be the most telling of them with me when it comes to way I react to cleaners, I have always found bathroom ones the worst, I had one a couple of months back that even Ash couldn’t stand to be around, it can be so hit and miss when it comes to them you never quite know what you might be in for until you are actually at home and cleaning, but with method as much as bathroom cleaning can be it is enjoyable. The fragrance doesn’t hit the back of your throat it is actually pleasant to be around, while still cleaning your bathroom off to a squeaky clean shining finish. Fantastic all around.

The prices of these astonish me – I’m used to paying much more for a decent cleaner, yet these come in well above my expectations with a much lower price tag, from now on I have to say these will be my cleaners of choice.

Method is available from most major supermarkets as well as smaller independents.

  1. I particularly like that this did not catch the back of your throat when using it.
I use a well-known product that does a great job on the kitchen tiles but I can ‘taste’ it for a good while afterwards. (No – I’m not partaking of the fluid – just permeates everywhere) I’ve taken to holding my breath in between moping to try to avoid this happening – it helps somewhat.
Sounds like the method range is worth trying.

  2. I recently bought the Method washing liquid – you just squirt the liquid direct into your washing machine and that’s it! It is long lasting and easy to use but I prefer my washing to come out smelling of something and with the Method – it does not. I think I might try the cleaning products you have list above though because I prefer my cleaning products to have little or no smell as I have a house rabbit, cat and dog. Thank you for the review!

  3. It’s horrid isn’t it – you would think it would be something a company takes into consideration when making a product. Definitely worth giving a go if you do it would be interesting to know if you found it didn’t catch you as well or if it did! x

  4. Let me know if you try it what you think… I have to admit I love a lot of smell when it comes to my washing as well. Something extra nice about clean gorgeous smelling laundry lol x

  5. I’ve not tried them yet or seen them, but they seem really good & reasonably priced. Thanks for the review.
