Christmas Countdown: With Three

Three 3 logo
I love gadgets so when Three contacted me to see if I fancied loaning a couple of there must haves for Christmas this year to see how I found them I jumped at the chance and what a funtastic fortnight I’ve had playing with them both. If you follow me on twitter you may already have an idea of what one of the products might be – and I have to say your right and I miss it! But first up I’m going to venture into the world of MiFi.
Huawei E5331 Value MiFi in White.
Three 2 Huawei E5331 Value MiFi in White.
I always have a dongle just in case around the place, it’s an old one I bought it a good few years ago now when I fell out with a certain telecom company and told them to just switch me off! But it does the job gets me up and running when I’m out and about – my parents have also borrowed it a few times when they were let down by another company, I decided on three back then and it’s never let me down, so I thought it would be interesting to see how things had progressed – I had heard the odd bit about Mobile Wi-Fi or Mi-Fi so I was interested to see if it really stood up to its claims.
A pocket sized device it lets you connect up to 5 wifi enabled gadgets in one go, be them laptop, pc, tablet, phone or games console, it has a battery life of up to 4 and a half hours and can be charged from you laptop or from the wall socket. You can gain up to 21.1Mbps Download and 5.76Mbps Upload.
As the name says this is a ‘value’ mi-fi it costs just £15.99 for 5gb per month with a one off upfront payment of £29.99 (this is on a one month rolling contract so you’re free to cancel any time after the first month) or you can buy it on pay as you go for £49.99 which is preloaded with 1gb of data ready to go.
It’s so simple to set up – you pop in the sim card, make sure it’s charged up and press the on button, to connect you just choose the correct wifi input your password and off you go – I still remember the fiddle it was to connect a dongle the downloading of the application and waiting for it to connect and set up, yet this takes only moments to get itself up and running.
Once you’re online I was surprised how quick it was they have definitely come alone in not only portability but speed over the years I have to admit I couldn’t think of 5 things to link up to it in one go but it managed well on the 3 we had going.
I can definitely say if you want a portable way to access the internet it’s definitely worth looking into one of these.
Next up I have the product that will be no surprise to some of you the:
Sony Xperia T
Sony Xperia T
I had such fun with this phone I really didn’t want to send it back – if I wasn’t only 1/2 way through a two year contract I know what I would be running down the shop and getting. I love a good camera on a phone and this one is amazing (some of you might have noticed me suddenly instagraming everything – I may have got a slight addiction to it sadly my normal phone doesn’t run it though so instagram has gone along with the phone boo). The 13 megapixel camera is complemented amazingly by the full HD screen as well as HD connectivity if you want to link it up to a bigger screen.
What got me about this phone was how everything seemed to be high quality, normally if you ask for a good camera you sacrifice something else but I couldn’t find anything that was lacking with this phone, the sound quality was crystal clear, it comes with not only 16GB of internal storage but 50GB of online storage with Box so if you love your downloads you could be in heaven. The battery lasted really well (I’ve been having to charge my currant phone nightly so it was a breath of fresh air to be able to go longer between charges) and handily it shows you the exact percentage left on the main screen so no getting caught out.
Sony Xperia T
When I first changed to an all singing and dancing smart phone one major thing that worried me was constant data use what if I forgot to to turn something off and went out with the phone switching from wifi to data usage I could be in big trouble with a huge bill coming my way – well this phone even has a ‘wifi only’ switch love it!
Fancy getting your mits on one – or treating me ;) the Xperia T is available on Contract or Pay as You Go – visit Three online to find the best deal for you.
And if ir sounds like something out of James Bond – well it is the Xperia T is featured in Skyfall.
What gadgets do you hope Santa will leave in your stocking; does either of these seem right up your street?

*I was loaned the Huawei and Xperia for two weeks to have a try of – nothing else was recieved in return for this post, my views are as always 100% honest – love for the Xperia is all my own *please Santa please*
