For the past year beauty boxes have been a big hit on the UK market, I have to admit I had started to inwardly groan when I heard another one had been launched.. That was until I came across the concept of Betrousse a French brand that has recently launched into the UK. Betrousse boasts among other things, no subscription and all full sized products – you even get to see what you will receive before committing to buying the box, if you don’t like what you see you don’t buy and pop back the next month to see if the new box fulfils your needs and with each box saving you around 75% what’s not to like?I was lucky enough to receive one of their second boxes to have a look at with the theme of Organic and Natural Beauty, costing £17 you are saving a huge £55 off the full retail price if brought separately.
With 5 full sized items for you to paw over, your only trouble maybe working out where to start first.
Fro Her Aloe and Honey Mist – RRP £10.99 for 75ml.
A hydrating hair mist that helps protect your hair against breakages. With aloe vera juice oil to help nourish even the driest of hair leaving hair silky soft without the sticky build up. I’m looking forward to using this on my greys – to use just apply to dry hair and then dry outdoors or with a hair dryer, the colour will last until the next wash.
Reve De Provence olive oil and lavender – £4.99 for 150g
This is an either or item both items are by the same company and a gorgeous organic soap bar but some boxes will receive the argan oil bar instead. Use daily – one drop is enough to do across one eye. 100% organic.
Lothantique Bath Salt – RRP £10 for 600g.
This was the other either or or item and some will have received the Lothantique Bath and Shower Gel 200ml for £9. The bath salts dissolve quickly in warm water, while the perfume leaves you with a nicely fragranced bath, bath salts can be beneficial to your skin and mood.
As soon as I opened the box I was greeted by the scent of the lavender soap which made me want to dig more into the depths and find out all that was in there. It really does feel like a huge treat opening it up to find full size products, ok you know what’s in there already but on the plus side you also know that you will love them. I really can’t find a fault with the company at all, the people I’ve talked to there have been so lovely; the delivery was within days of me being told it had been sent. I really think for the people who want to treat themselves but aren’t sure about the whole you have no idea what you will receive concept this really is a brilliant idea and for everyone else do you need more than everything is full size giving you an amazing opportunity to really try out the products included at a highly reduced price.
Both this box and the previous Spring Beauty box (£19) are available to buy now.
What do you think of Betrousse, have you already given it a try?
*Box was gifted to me in return for my reviews, all thoughts are 100% honest and my own! ROCK ON Betrousse!!
This is a pretty cool idea! Although I do like the surprise of my beauty boxes, for those who are tired of getting them, this could be a great next step! x
I have to agree with loving the surprise, I think both sorts have something different and great to offer, and of course it depends on what your preference is with receiving things. xx
Okay colour me impressed. Although the element of surprise is one of the things I like about current beauty boxes. I’m not sure about the hair mascara, how do they know what colour to send you? I am light to mid blonde so a brown hair mascara would probably look funny on me!
Still, I might have a peek once I have some money in my account, I am weak when it comes to beauty boxes.
These products sounds fantastic!
Sounds like a great deal! Although I think I would like the surprise element of the other beauty boxes more.
They are only sending out the one colour which is the dark brown, which is just right for me but obviously for people like you might be a bit off putting, on the flipside though, most of the other beauty boxes don’t check on skin tone, hair colour etc so quite often things don’t match your needs and I know that’s caused a lot of problems what with beauty profiles being taken but not used. At least with knowing you can take all that into consideration before buying.
. LOL I think all have there pluses and minus
.
Don’t get wrong I do love the surprise but sometimes I have been left feeling despondent with the items included and wondering why – false lashes and glasses do not go
Keep looking as this box might not be for you but you never know what they next might hold and there’s no commitment you can buy as a one off and know you wont get charged again unless you buy another.
I do love a good surprise as well.. But I also like knowing what I’m getting – think I might need Harry Hill to sort that one out for me
xx
Like the mascara in a tube!
I still need to give a go on my greys. Hopefully it will make me look a bit less ermm old lolxx
It’s fab isn’t it in that respect – have to admit I can’t get in and out of baths at the moment, once I’ve moved I’m having a shower fitted at the moment I have to venture to the parents for one lol – but the bath salts will still be put to good use
– keep looking and checking the next one might be right up your street x
Have to admit to keeping away from these boxes, but this one is great. I love the fact you can see upfront what you get, as being a red head with very white skin, some make up just doesn’t suit me, or at least that’s what I think, also not being able to get into a bath, anything bath related is a waste, showers for me. Would love to try one of these so will see how the pennies are this month
