A more Pocket Friendly Movie Night.

There’s a plethora of subscription services that allow you to watch films and TV series straight onto your computer or via an internet connected TV, but what about when you want to just watch the odd thing, for those they really are not good value. Enter Blinkbox - an on-line service that allows you to watch movies online.
I’m one of those people who loves watching films, but I’m not a fan of the cinema – I always need the loo half way through and dear goodness their seats send my bum so numb so I spend most of the film either trying not to think about needing the toilet or trying not to move around too much, thus missing most of the film. Then there’s the price because of course on top the ticket costs I have to factor in Ash and his eating habits, plus petrol as from here we have to go a town over which brings the cost of one cinema trip to a pricey £30 plus!
So as much as I can swing of my movie watching is done from the comfort of my own home, curled up on the sofa, cup of tea, ability to pause movies should it be needed – perfect! Thus when I was offered the chance to try Blinkbox out I jumped at it.
With new releases such as Avengers Assemble, American Pie and The Cabin in the Woods for just £3.49 rented, others starting from just 99p plus a large choice of free films and TV programmes and the chance to buy your most loved, the main problem for me was choosing just what to watch.
Ash and I decided we had to watch Avengers, so we decided to curl up with some goodies from the shop a nice cup of tea once I had picked him up from work the other day. The set up process was easy, make an account, choose a film, enter the code (if you have one) and you’re ready to go.
Prices:
£3.49 – new release film
Drinks: £0 – already in house hold
Treats: £2.09 – sharing bag of Maltesers
Total = £5.58
A much more pocket friendly price for a more comfortable time – thanks to Blinkbox.
If you were to watch a film right now, what would you choose?
*We received a code to try Blinkbox free of charge that however doesn’t effect my opinions which are as always 100% honest.

  1. I love this post!! :) My boyfriend and I use Netflix which sounds similar to what you mentioned. There are so many movies and tv shows that we have yet to watch! I love it and it is much better than going to the movies or renting a movie from a movie store!

    I stopped over via Blog Hop Til You Drop via The Epic Mom!

    P.S. I am now following your blog via email!!

  2. I really like The Avengers. I went to see it in theaters with my Husband. We never go so it was a huge treat.
    I do like being at home though because we can snuggle and I can make coffee. I’d love to see the new Men In Black movie. It’s the sort that we’d both enjoy and not too sappy.
